  • everyones forgeting Donny Osmond as a teen idol of the early 70's and late 60's.

  • Davy Jones Had a smile that lit up the room and our <3

  • sup with his cross eyes though

    Where is he now??

  • Hmm. I wonder what cheesy, unoriginal contemporary sitcom the likes of what's-his-name, Justin Beaver(?) is gonna croon for some poor teenie bopper in homage to this. :-/

  • Keith Richards is still alive and the clean living Davy Jones is dead. Blows my fucking mind.

  • they played part of this clip on the news when they said he died....broke my heart....

  • Is it weird that I find him attractive in this and I'm 16 years old? I watch the Brady bunch and a lot of old stuff lol and listen to the good stuff like this :)

  • @dragonloverxxl34 Nothing wrong at all with that! It doesn't matter how old you are! He's a good looking guy!

  • Best song ever

  • This the best song ever.this is the only clean song out there.I am I right?

  • I can't watch this without crying

  • im 13 years old and im not afraid to say i love Davy Jones.<3 RIP <3

  • I can't listen to this song w/o crying. I feel like a part of my childhood has died. I've been a Monkees fan since I was 3 watching reruns from '69 on. I've seen them in concert 3 times, and saw Davy open for Rick Springfield 2 years ago, (sadly came in the middle of his act, 'cos we were late). I couldn't even watch his tribute on Me-TV today, (although I taped it), 'cos I thought I'd break down. Good-bye, Davy. RIP...you were loved, you are missed. :o(

  • This is when I started my crush for Davy Jones..

  • Davy was so cute I'm only 20 but i remember falling in love with this song when i was 5

  • How old was he on this show at the time?

  • @dragonloverxxl34 He was 25 yrs old.

  • @ktwo425 he was actually 23 years old.

  • RIP Davy Jones!!

  • He is so short and...cute.

I just love his dancing =D.

    Rip Davy Jones.

  • Great Show, Great Song, Great singer. RIP Davy.

  • After almost 40 years, it's still all about Marcia, Marcia, Marcia... !!!

  • I was very sad to hear about Davy's passing. You could tell that he was a nice guy which is the way he came across on TV, and that's how he was in person from what I keep reading about him. I grew up watching The Monkees, and I still enjoy seeing them on reruns. Of course, The Brady Bunch episode with Davy on it is a favorite for most people because he sings the song "Girl" on there, and it's such a great song, and it's just a classic! Thanks for sharing this song with us Davy! RIP.

  • No, Davy, thank you. RIP

  • I used to have the biggest crush on him. I also remember seeing him on the brady bunch...oh i was so mad to see Marcia kiss him. So badly i wished i could have been Marcia! <3 Rest in Peace....

  • I remember this so well during my childhood!!!!! :O :) :D

  • R.I.P. Davy Jones.

  • Is anyone going 2 Davids Memorial in New York?

I can think of nothing I'd like more than 2 be around people who understand exactly HOW SAD I'm feeling-Youd think now that a few days have passed would hurt a bit less-NOT EVEN CLOSE

If anyone finds themselves driving thru NJ I'm only 1 MILE off the Garden State Parkway if you want to share the ride with a fellow "Davy Lover", maybe listen to Monkees music all the way to New York?

Cant even imagine the emotions of a day/event like this :(

  • this is a classic episode in which Davy Jones stars in Brady Bunch, this was one of my favorite shows growing up, they don't have good shows like this anymore. Great show one of my all time favorites

  • @jazcfam Look up Davy Jones and U2 on Youtube...Bono appreciates The Monkees music and especially the talents of Davy.

The U2 audience went wild for him and Daydream Believer in 1997...Watching it now takes on a deeper meaning.

  • RIP davy jones we miss u! :(

  • Love this song! Anyone know who wrote it?

  • While most of my friends were into Nsync & backstreet boys, I was watching reruns of their sitcoms and listening to their Vinyls. Although I didn't grow up in the 1960's , they sure made me feel like I was part of it. I regret not going to their show last summer at the Greek theater. R.i.p. Mr. Wonderful Davy Jones.

  • r.i.p davy Jones

  • RIP Davy Jones [*]

  • Rest in peace Davey Jones. The world has lost another true talent from a golden era in popular music that was bright and melodic and hopeful and will never come again.

  • Thank You Davy...for making the music nicer. Davy...for making the morning brighter. Davy...for making a better world for us. RIP (1945-2012)

  • R.I.P Davy Jones <3 you shall be missed truly!!

  • Shit, I wanted to see what happened next!

Love Davy Jones and this song :(

  • now marcia would need a seance to get in contact with him...

  • they were playing in dedactoin to him

  • It's impossible for me to watch this video without smiling- he really did seem so happy. I was fortunate to meet him in 2004, and he was such a nice guy. The music world has really lost a gem- may he rest in peace.

  • @jlachey21 so true i cant stop smiling either! he aged gracefully never really losing his boyish cute charm :]

  • Davy Jones was the Justin Bieber of the mid 1960"s to early 70's. But

Davy Jones was a much better singer.

  • @wukalar76

I agree (: but justin bieber is still one of my guilty pleasures (:

  • @wukalar76 ...and dancer! Such a beautiful guy in every way.

Davy Jones was charm and sweetness incarnate. He will be greatly missed.

  • @wukalar76 I want to let you have your moment but I just can't let that go. The Bieb is just as good as DJ. Cheers.

  • @wukalar76 Nah, nah. Shaun Cassidy and Leif Garrett were the Justin Biebers of the 70's.

And what season of the Brady Bunch is this!?

  • i used to live in indiantown, florida. thats where he lived

and i never knew he lived there until the day he died :(

  • Davy Jones, you'll always be "the Most!"

  • isn't he the most!!!

  • Monkees belong in the rock and roll hall of fame. Come join us in Liking the page on facebook:

    /PutTheMonkeesInTheRockAndRollHallOfFame

  • Another of my heros gone. Davey you are and always will be my first ever crush. I was only a small girl when I first clapped eyes on the Monkees. And even now at 43 I can say that you were THE FIRST. May you rest in peace.

  • Davy Jones was my very first crush when I was 8. RIP.....You will always be my first:)

  • love the high tech equipment tape machines.alot of people really remember davy from being on the brady bunch this one time sure made alot of impact.rest in peace david.

  • RIP Davy. I had the honour to meet (well see you) in about 1968/9 in Carnaby Street shopping at "I was Lord Kitchener's Valet". We'd all just bought some crap Kaftans! A lovely nice friendly bloke who I will miss greatly. Davy you did good.

  • Davy's last song, Written In My Heart, recorded around Valentine's Day, is here:

    youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=nT9uk4X8awg#!

help get it a million views.

  • Mod watch, guilty though mine was clear ;-) Avocado green, did they have a sale on that colour or what? Wall phone with party line (some nights great entertainment listening in!) Big crushes back then were Davy Jones and Jack Wild, two dynamic, adorable englishmen! Heaven needed an angel Davy, you were the chosen one.

  • can't the sound engineer smile just a little?

  • I'm a 90's kid. I "discovered" the Monkees based on the Brady Bunch episodes. With that being said every youtube video I see of Davy Jones and the Monkee's even the videos when they are older and not in their teens or twenty's anymore...He just seems so happy and optimistic. He seemed so innocent. Jones seemed to love being a "Monkee". He remained a believer.

  • Love you Davy. A thousand hearts have broken <3

  • Is that Don Kirschner in the control room?

  • My God, he was handsome! The only other 60s superstar of the same era who was that cute was Paul McCartney.

  • his teeth were sooooooooooooo weird but yet soooooooo white and shiney!!!

  • I was so jealous of Marcia Brady getting to meet Davy Jones. He was a big part of my teen years and I had a major crush on him. God Bless you Davy, Rest in Peace

  • Davy Jones was so adorable! I love him soooooooooooooo much! RIP

  • Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart??

  • will miss your music davey, love you all the way to our heaven!! sing in heaven, we will hear you,,

  • RIP Davy ...

  • We will all miss you Davy..This episode of "The Brady Bunch" was my fondest memories of Davy Jones...

  • Jones had a great face--if only he had been a foot taller.

  • wow.didnt realize how this video affected me.w/ my little black & white tv =seemed.so simple.so agree w/the others-now i know that feeling my mom felt &my kids will feel infuture.but wow right now it my turn & it feels sad & beautiful .i am sad but grateful for this memory-as marcia pretty much got what she wanted i am happy she had her date w/davy :)it brings a smile to my face YES,a part of my youth just has been lost.:(.but thankful to have the experience. just simplyThank YOU, Davey RIP <3

  • "It sounded great, Davy." It sure did. xo

  • I've had this video as a favorite for years. Absolutely love it. Memories to last a lifetime. Thank you Davy. RIP...

  • RIP Davey :(

  • Davy Jones is the spawn of Satan and the assassin of happiness!

  • A part of my youth goes with you, Davy Jones. Wish I still had thos hot posters of him from the '70s.

  • I'm afraid they're no real Davy fans or music fans here for that matter. A true fan of Davy's would never diss another singer. He'd be ashamed of all of you.

  • @auntbecky And you know this HOW? Let's hear it for the PC police. I grew up with this music because of my sisters and brother, have followed the Monkees for years, and I will tell you that people who scream stopped turning me on once I got over hair bands. I don't care what genre it is. You don't hear Queen Latifah scream on her jazz/blues albums I wasn't going to post here anymore after someone complained, but you're being rediculous.

  • :')

  • I gre up watching "the Monkee's'. So sad to hear of Davy's death.

  • As a tribute, Justin Beiber will do a remake of this song.

  • Thank you for being my first crush Davy.... You will always be loved my millions... thanks for making my childhood have good memories.... Rest In Peace Davy..you sure will be missed :(

  • Wow! When I was around 10, I remember my friend and I could not wait to see this Brady Bunch episode cause we knew Davy Jones was gonna be on it. RIP my fav. Monkee.

  • He was such a cutie. A childhood ICON gone. RIP Davy.

  • I was 12 when I walked in on my mom weeping over Elvis' death. She looked so young & vulnerable!--Here was my "old, super strict, never show weakness" Mom crying endlessly at the kitchen sink about a Non-Family Member, No less!

Now I know how she felt. I desperately want to be back in parents avocado green kitchen (with phones that hung on the wall) waiting with my little tape recorder for the Monkees to come on so I could tape it. (WHATS A DVR?)

At least David knew WE ALL LOVED HIM :)

  • @AREALJERSEYGIRL Very touching, especially considering even when I was 3 and constantly assaulted with his music, I never liked Elvis and still don't. This is another matter. I always liked the Monkees, and I have learned to love other bands from the 60s that I wasn't that familiar with in the last 5 years. Wish this music wasn't just relegated to oldies stations!

  • @Multi80schick -That is the reason I go on YOUTUBE for 5 MINUTES & look up and 5 hours are gone. "I'll JUST watch ONE Monkee song... and THAT ONE, and THAT ONE", --".Oh, there's David Cassidy w/"Think I love you" or the love song Barry Manilow wrote for u and that guy that broke up with u for the more popular girl." LOL

This is a dangerous place!!!! I can just sign on and GO BACK IN TIME!!

Its helped "TALKING" to fellow Davy fans-noone else GETS IT :)

  • @AREALJERSEYGIRL I hear ya. If only we all could go back to simpler times. I miss a time when we didn't need all this iCrap to function. Davy loved us and we loved him. The world got a bit dimmer yesterday.

  • @Beatles0223 I know right but we don't have to function with that iCrap stuff. I still have my same phone since 2007 and I don't text. My friends hate calling me but if they want to stay in touch with me then they better call me or move on and make new friends.

  • @TheCajunGambit1 Good for you !! Now let's all move to get National Health Care and a better government, instead of being like sheep led to slaughter ! Love Louisiana !

  • @AREALJERSEYGIRL i could have written that down to the color of the kitchen..R.I.P DAVY

  • @AREALJERSEYGIRL I know how you feel, of course I am a little older than you, but from the same era, I think I cry also for all the years gone and the loss of innocence. Those were the most wonderful days of my life waiting for the Monkees to come on, just as you. Yes I think Davy Jones knew he was LOVED by MANY and I also feel he lived his life to the fullest every day. I still will shed my tears and I hope the angels will allow him to sing for them as he did for us!!

  • @ninantn2 -- Reading all these posts it's no wonder our fingers are flying away on our keyboards--We're so 'THE SAME" :)

Don't want to hear "he was just a man" or "look at bright side etc." -I'm so damn sad and don't know when that will end

The ONLY thing that makes me feel a teeny bit of "relief" is that David's death didnt BRING ON this attention. All he had to do was read the internet or look out into the sold out crowds of screaming fans. Not bad for 66. HE KNEW WE LOVED HIM!

  • @AREALJERSEYGIRL Come join the Facebook petition page to get the Monkees in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame:

  • THIS IS THE WORST SONG EVER, HOLY SHIT, THIS IS HORRIBLE, PLEASE GOD MAKE IT STOP!

  • R.I.P 12/30/46 2 2/29/12

  • In honor of Davy's untimely passing, we will be airing this episode Friday, 3/2 at 5p and 5:30p ET. Go to insp.com and click on the Find INSP on TV link to see if INSP is available in your area. Our thoughts and prayers continue for Davy's family and friends. This is a huge loss to the world of music and television!

  • Trying to explain to my 12 year old son why I am absolutely devastated. Not ready to have my idols and crushes die.

  • Yardley of London ... Twiggy ... Sonny & pre-Greg-Allman-and-cosmetic surgery Cher ... playing Monkees 45's on my little mini record player in the back yard in Buffalo, NY and dancing with my stringy hair parted on the side ... my neon yellow plastic "mod" wrist watch with roman numerals ... shiny white lipstick which brought out the yellow in my teeth... the Brady Bunch and Davy Jones. Fishnet stockings and go-go boots. When any of them die, so does a part of me. RIP Davy. :o(

  • How touching... What a beautiful thing to say. I am not quite 40 yet so I missed most of the good times but I do remember the Monkeys show.

  • I love Brady Bunch!! I love this episode w/ Davy Jones!! RIP Davy Jones!! Thanks for all the good music you gave us!!

  • Thank you Davy for making us smile all these years!

  • Rest in peace Davy I will miss you more then you know,I will miss your smile and your sweetness, and your singing .

  • This episode was GREAT! Loved watching the Brady Bunch growing up and loved Davy Jones back then, thought he was the CUTEST!! R I P Davy.

  • RIP Davey you will be missed.

  • Man o man looking at this is just like it was just yesterday when I watched this and I was so so in love with Davy Jones. I remember thinking how lucky Marcia was to be in the same room with him. My heart ached when I heard of his passing. RIP Davy and thank you for reminding us all of how wholesome life was back then. XOX

  • RIP Davy Jones, you will be missed.

  • OMG I was so in love with him! also David Cassidy! Man, I remember this episode so much! Sad day :(

  • Thanks for sharing your gifts with us Davey, see you on the other side.

  • Davy was just one of those People, that you didn't think would ever die.

  • Love listening to Davy sing this sing. Wonderful memories.

  • I know this is hard for you people to believe, but people have different taste in music, just like some people would rather have nasty mcdonalds than a home cooked meal. Doesn't make them an invalid, just different. I'm sure all the popular musicians/ "artists" from this generation will be remembered in their passing and you will probably have to explain who they were and how they impacted the industry to the kids in that generation that listen to whatever god-awful music is popular then.

  • What did she do to him, make him hard?

  • R.I.P. Davy Jones.. You were the man

  • RIP Davy Jones

  • RIP Davy. I love the Monkees and I'm glad I saw Davy perform in my hometown a few years ago.

  • wish davy had put this song girl on an album.love this song

  • Classic

  • Rip davey you have an amazing voice x

  • RIP Davy and thanks for the memories.

I thank God I grew up in the 1960's.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • This is such a great song! Very powerful! Rest In Peace,Dave! You had a great and long career to be proud of!

  • @californiaspinnaker So, what you are really saying is that you were on cocaine when you posted your message. Get some help and manners while you are at it.

  • @californiaspinnaker

that's what I was thinking. seriously. it had to be cocaine. he was relatively young. and recently got a got a clean bill of health from his doctor. and he suddenly has a heart attack? sure seems fishy.

  • @californiaspinnaker It killed John Alec Entwistle at 57 in 2002 in Las Vegas, just before the Who were going to tour. I have to say it, Davy Jones you're another idiot! Who takes cocaine at the age of 66 years old!?!?

  • @californiaspinnaker You suck!

  • Farwell Davey!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • will be missed.. yes the justin beiber of the 70's..cute cute cute.. was in a major crush with him... yesterday, yesteryear life simple and wonderful memorises.. rip davy

  • I have always adored this song .. just gives me chills ... so sad he is gone ... such a nice guy.

  • Thank you Davey, For making a better world for me

  • now marcia brady has no date to the prom

  • I hope he had a good happy life till the end.

  • @internationalsmarty What a beautiful thought. I hope so too.

  • Ok whether you're 10 or 70, you aren't American if you haven't seen this episode! It's a slice of timeless Americana that we all can identify with! Davy Jones was an icon for many generations, not just the 1960s folk.

  • Hope he knew Jesus !!!

  • @mjb519 Hope he knew Allah !

  • @justcallmeassinine allah , is nothing but the moon god! means he created nothing ..you will findout after death ,, only then it will be late......seek Jesus while you still can ...

  • @SuperAdrianamarie

HUGS ! SO SORRY THAT DAVY JONES HAD PASSED. WHAT CAN I SAY ? : (

  • Oh my sweet Davy Jones is gone.Everyone knows "Sleepy Jean" was his song !

I just seen him with my husband in Deadwood, SD 2010 and he was moving on the stage as a kid again. He was so full of energy and tireless.

When are they going to make looking for Coronary Heart Veins part of a physical?? We are way past the time to do the study..cause my husband who was with me at Davy's concert died January 6, 2011 of a massive heart attack at 62. Clogged vein on the outside of the heart! No warning!

  • @brokenwingb4 Oh I'm so sorry to hear that xo

  • may he rest in peace he was a good singer too young to pass away

  • The Best!!

  • You will be missed

  • Rest in Peace DAVY JONES!!! <3

  • RIP DAVY!! 1945-2012.

  • He will always be my favorite Monkee, and he will be missed. =( RIP Davy.

  • I only know Davy Jones from this episode of the Brady Bunch, may he rest in Peace! BTW does anyone know who played his manager, the guy who speaks with Marcia at the end? He looks SO familiar? Was he the guy in the Nat'l Lampoon Vacation movies?

  • @nsgutube

No, he wasn't in "Vacation". The actor who plays the manager is Britt Leach.

  • So very sad to lose him at such a young age. I had the biggest crush, still do....

  • RIP, Brother-Man! Your spotlight is bigger, now, than you have ever imagined! Gonna miss your music, until we meet again one day!3

  • Poor Marcia! I'll bet she's devastated. My condolences to Marcia Brady.

  • @RetroTony1959 To the Whole Brady famiy and to the Jonses, too!

  • R.I.P. Davy.

  • Thank you Davy for making the winter warmer, for making the music softer, for making a better world for me.

  • Davy was my favy.

    A sad day.

  • I had to explain to my daughter that someday, when she is 49, that she will be sad if Justin Bieber dies. RIP Davey.

  • @dirongustafson interesting because I was explaining to my son today, that this was our Bieber in the early 70s (even though I was so young then). In fact I showed this to my son just last month. so sad

  • @dirongustafson You nailed it exactly! I'm the same age and would say the same thing to MY daughter.
