it is a bit stupid leaving your bicycle unlocked, isn't it? however civilized society may be in the northern countries, in my opinion it's the equivalent of leaving your mobile phone in the street. :) maybe in a distant future, bikes could be laying in the streets, for everyone to take, use and leave in another part of town at whatever time they wish.
