Making a pan takes a good 3 months. The sinking and firing is not too bad, but the strobe tuning, refiring, and retuning takes hours...days...lots of bottles of rum :)

simple as in the crafting of the instrument...not playing it. Play it requires a decent amount of skill!!

the crafting is very complicated, you're taking a steel pan and giving it 30 distinct notes, I imagine that by hand making one is extremely tedious
