  • Does anyone know what you call the headwear these women are wearing? And yes I know its a "hat". My mother is interested in beading one and wants to know where to get one and/or what to ask for.

  • .<b>We Paiutes have different names for them depending on our dialects. We call basket hats Po'no, Tsotia or Su'tsotia. I recall seeing on in Yakima Washington forsale, but that was years ago. They used to weave them from cornhusk, willow or other material now they either bead them or make them out of cloth. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

  • Actually you were a great help. I don't live far from Yakima. Thank you very much.

  • I saw one being sold at the museum in Yakima that had a display of Chief White Swan, but that was yeeeeears ago...lol I hope you have good luck making or finding one...peace

  • The traditional dressware is beautiful, as are all those participating.

  • U.N.I.T.Y. is going to Oklahoma this summer of 2007. Natives from all over the nation will be there with their tribe. Come meet new people, share your culture. Their will be entertainment; food and dances. Their will also be workshops for college and health...Last year UNITY went to Buffalo, NY, and it was fun. Research some more about it. See you there!
