As long as an adult can walk into Hawaiis version of the Department of Records and provide proof that they are a legal resident of Hawaii, the document is issued.
The child, on the other hand, could have been born in Hawaii, Kenya, or a back-alley in Budapest.

That certificate is a legally binding document in the state of Hawaii. They do not allow the original to be taken out of the state offices, but they HAVE let people in to see it. Your head has been filled with lies.

Barrack Obamas mother Ann Dunham was born in Kansas as were her parents. This means she was a US citizen. Therefore Barrack could have been born anywhere - Kenya, Egypt, China, Hawaii, Mars, Pluto, or Alpha Centauri - and he would still be considered a US citizen from birth - natural born.

That would explain your misinformed statement. Corporations now *can* donate in kind w/o limit.
Not to mention the argument Sen Franken presents is one of disallowing control by single entities over both content and distribution. Nowhere does Franken argue that he questions the price structures of distribution. The question before the Congress is one of allowing content creators some measure of control over distribution channels.

When these companies behave in a way that is detrimental to us as consumers (e.g. raising prices without cause, cutting service, undermining FCC regulations, lying to US senators, etc) , they owe us a goddamn explanation.

it's not a competitive industry. It's very collusive, and the government gets to regulate it because they rely on the property of the people in order to make their living (e.g. running cable under people's backyards and under city streets).

of course its a competitive industry. You think Fox isn't trying to steal NBC's viewership and Comcast isn't trying to steal Directv's subscribers? Thats preposterous. Furthermore, property law is much more complex than simply saying "you put a cable under the ground you must pay me for it". It will be regulated just like everything is regulated, but they don't (and shouldn't) be telling companies that rate hikes are ridiculous and must be governmentally controlled.
