I like how you are trying to capture a little bit of all of the different resources available...if it's a bad day for one of them, hopefully one or two of the remaining are still chugging along helping out.
I wish there was a stream or brook on my property for micro hydro but just isn't, dang it.
On your micro hydro. If you put the hose coming over the top to fill the water wheel you'd have gravity helping turn it. That might give you a little more power. you'd need to run it the other direction. you could also add a 2nd overflow over the top of that for when there is more water.
Looks great !! What a great combo wind solar and hydro ! I wish i ahd a stream or brook flowing through my yard ! Is your wind turbin above your tree line ? Are elecrtic bill went from $200 to $50 a month with just my 2 turbins ,,
mrbuki77 I live in connecticut. I am not sure how many amp hrs a day I get micro hydro .30-.50 amps 24/7 solar good day 1-10 amps 5-6hrs a day wind some days 0 other days 2-10amps all day do you know any way to measure it THANKS FOR COMMENT TAKE CARE
The only way I know is a device called a Trimetric. I am not sure if that's how it's spelled. My charge controller gives me these readings. But my Rogue MPPT 3024 was $300. So, I'm sure there less expensive ways.
The best of three worlds. Great stuff man you are the good example of just doing it. I love the hydro and that turbine is sweet, how are you doing on your electric bill? One other thing do you wind your own coils? LOve the video one of my favorites............LATER FROM THE WEST COAST.........
hey doug yes I do wind my own coils the turbine coils are 78 turns of 14g mag wire the microhydro coils are 75 turns of all different sizes of wire from scrap electric motors. not easy to get the wire out but can be done with a few bloody knuckles.the first stator I made was 35 turns of double strand 12g mag wire it was not pretty but it does make power I plan to make another turbine with it .elec bill is down by 45-50 water heater timer saves the most

You have a great looking property. What state are you in? How many amp hrs do you produce on average in a 24hr period?
