did anyone play suiko gaiden? I did and it is really sad what happened to his mother, so if you guys wanna know just ask, I think he is pretty cool for what he did to try to fuck up the state because of his childhood.

@Monsterrancherfan1 I havenbeaten him, but I don't recall it showing clearly what happened to him and his mom. Did I just forget a part of the story? The clearest part I remember is when he kills the king, and tells him why... is there another scene I'm forgetting??

The scene was not shown. But apparently what happened was that his mother was raped by City State soldiers in front of his eyes. I can kind of feel for him, I would probably be just as evil if that were to happen. Hell, anyone would. In a sense, Luca Blight was an awesome villain because his methods are extreme evil and there is a real reason behind it.

@MedicalChew Thanks. I can understand not wanting to show rape in the game, but at least having some scene (maybe before and after, or at least a clearer allusion to it) would have made the Luca Blight character more emotionally compelling to me during the game. Still a good game and story though.

well, try the jp psp version.... but only of you speak japanese. i think you can get it for the ps3 psp in the playstation network... dunno i read something about it, but it could be that you "only" get the first suikoden there. btw ff VII ist avialable there, too ;)

At this point, you can only find the game really on ebay or other such sites. It didn't do well when it was released in the US, so it's like impossible to find a copy in any stores (meaning the ones that sell playstation games still)

I can't belive the people having Sephiroth as their favorite villain. He's just a crybaby that shouts for his mom over and over. But everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

It took Cloud to bring down Sephiroth. It took three parties of six, and a dozen of arrows AND a duel to bring Luca down. And he didn't have ANY superhuman powers at all, he just had raw strength and endurance.

Put Sephiroth and Luca in a pit fighting each other. Who would win? My money's on Luca.

Interesting fact I've learned....Luca Blight was based off of a legendary chinese general by the name of Xiang Yu. Although...i doubt Xiang was half as crazed and villianous as Luca...but...you guys and gals should look him up ^_^
