He used the "cut" tool from the editable poly vertex menu, the hotkey for it is Alt+C (I had problems to find that either, the hint was "I can just cut direct from my model" at 4:00)

How do i see the textures while im editing my objects
i mean without rendering
like here you apply a map and you see it but i have to render first to see it
please - how do i see it in the viewport?

When I select Poly after giving edit poly and uvw map modifier I can't see the yellow lines!?
They are only visible when I click on uvw map
