  • What about your router transmitting all three bands. B/G/N, Will I still get max distance? I need to have it in this mode so my laptop + iPods can still connect.

  • what about a wireless g+mimo router? will that work?

  • FFFAAKKKKEEEEE AAANNNDDD GAYYYYYYYY

  • @thedjole123 How is it fake?

  • Wireless N blows... I have it, pretty much no difference over Wireless G - Unless your internet connection is 60mb/s or more... then there is.. no difference..

  • it stops at 2:13 by me!!!!

  • belkin is the fastest i have netgear on my pc i max out at 54mbps i set up my girlfriends shit in the same house her shit max out at like 150mbps

  • N network. but my card isnt a N. if i just get an N card. even through 3 floors. would it be worth the price. compaired to running a cable. through the basement cealing tiles. through a hole i must drill through like 3 feet of length. (no lie....) then go up 4 flooors. the basement. the center. the upper and the attic.....then drill through a wall of probabley only a foot. hopeing to god i dont hit any cables.... and then in the cable over the attic down a floor. into my room.........

  • will this work with a WIRLESS-G USB NETWORK ADAPTER?

  • It will but you won't get the benefit of wireless N. You need wireless N to gain the distance.

  • @aramistech Hey I have a wireless Netgear receiver but have a D-link modem, will this affect range, speed or connection? Also the speed it constantly runs at is 60 kb/s but the speed it can go is up to 300 kb/s what is the explanation for this?

  • Check your speakers because I hear it fine. The audio will come out through your right speaker. I recorded the audio in stereo by mistake.

  • very bad

  • will it work with netgear?

  • This will work with any Wireless N card and Wireless N router.

  • i just got a belkin g router without an antenna, and a acer windows 7 laptop with a built in adapter, do u have any suggestions on how to recieve wifi at a farther range?

  • You need Wireless N, that is what I mention in the video. You need wireless N card on your laptop and the wireless N router.

  • i have a Belkain N+

  • Mine Is 802.11 b/g

  • You need N for this to work right.

  • That is, my 802.11g router...

  • lol...mines the same as yours...but is yours the hi-gain wireless-300n usb adapter with upgradable antennas....if not then yours is not like mine....mine works..very good....200mbps and 300mbps and up only....very reliable

  • Lol. Mine is 802.11b.

  • Wow, those where the days, almost right along with the 8track and vinyl albums.

  • well, I found my solution: see my router kept acting up, so I just wired my PowerMac G4 MDD to it.

  • so the usb that u plug is the wireless router itself? how do u configure it?

  • No my friend the usb that you plug in is the wireless card. The router is something different all together. To configure your router just follow the instructions that come with it.

  • good video thanks and great tip at the end.

  • Thank you, I appreciate. I'm glad it helped out.

  • 1. Do not. DO NOT install Linksys software. It sucks so bad. Do your self a favor and just configure the router yourself.

    2. if you don't have to upgrade your wireless, try waiting for a standard N draft.

And the strapping the usb wireless adapter to the laptop is pretty clever.

  • Thank you for your comments and I appreciate the input. You are correct, the best way to configure the router is connecting directly to it using the browser. Thanks again.

  • this works?

  • dang my internet on speed LOL

  • :-) I have now changed all my computers and laptops to wireless N and it sure works really good since I now have 100% signal strength all around the house. Take care.

  • what are you talking about dude, you CANNOT get faster internet, with wifi, compared to wired. wired ALWAYS wins.

  • My friend I have wireless N on all my computers including the laptops. The speed I get for transfering files and the range are equal to cable. I'm getting about 130mbps to 135mbps transfer rates and that speed I'm getting with the router being downstairs and the computers upstairs. I believe the one that does not know what is talking about is you. Don't knock it until you try it.. By the way I tranfer files from one computer to another just like cable so it is like cable. more secure maybe not.

  • no, no, you said that you could get "faster" speeds with wireless, when in turn, it is either equal to cable, or bottle necked, and forced to be slower than cable.

  • Yes, Yes. I'm actually transferring data at 130mbps with wired I get 100mbps. so it is faster. If you use Gigabit Lan then you are talking about a different ball game since you cannot beat that using wireless.

  • some routers transfer speeds at 300 mp/s.

  • You are right no Linux support or Mac support. All of these cards should support all operating systems.

  • 135 mp/s sigh..yeah...

  • hey, i have a netgear router downstairs, and i dont know if the router is an N or an E. How can i find this out?

  • Look at the model on the router then check on the internet, you will find it there or in your manual for the router. Sorry I took long to reply, I missed this post.
