the best 'Oh Holy Night' I have ever heard - epic guys, big, I am in ecstasy - my fav christmas carol - the night it all started - the Night Jesus was Born..
@allrequiredfields - are you unaware that Bono is a Christian? Much of what he does is saturated with his faith. Sure he isn't perfect at it; none of us are. But that's unrelated. As for Future of Forestry ripping them off, using the delay pedal is not ripping them off. Also, musicians use each other's music all the time, be it by influence or by straight up rip off. Visual artists do it as well. Clearly, this song is completely different by Where The Streets Have No Name.
Heard them last Sunday in Portland. They are soooo good. Creative, innovative, and very talented. This song, O Holy Night, for instance, just takes off in an unexpected direction midway, and transports the listener...
Just got back from their concert. They are masters of creating a world with music and crafting crescendos with class. One of the most talented and creative bands dreaming songs into existence today. Thanks for your songs FoF.
@allrequiredfields Please put down the crack pipe. Figures that you would be the first to give a 'thumbs down.' Sounds nothing like U2! If you are going to mindlessly attack Christians, at least be realistic.....
@WintersucksOH no my friend, that guitar part would not sound like that if not for U2. But it's ok, U2 is a great band to sound like (if you were being sarcastic and I didn't catch it, disregard my comment).
@boolifcooncoon Granted re: the guitar. It's one thing to be INFLUENCED by U2, another to rip them off. I see influence. ... of course, "Where The Streets Have No Name" is about Heaven, and "Magnificent" is about the Blessed Virgin Mary, so is it any surprise Christians are influenced by U2?
Playing guitar w/ a bow, however, is a tribute to the viola d'amore.
Wow....this is wonderful. It's so rare to find Christian musicians with this kind of talent; I don't know why, but it is. Bands like Thrice, The Receiving End of Sirens, Lowercase Noises, and Future of Forestry are so encouraging to me
I can think of nothing more beautiful than Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Judgement day comes and Christ heals us all. He pulls all our sorrows from us and we ascend to heaven to praise him eternally.
You're an incredible band! I've been a fan for years. Could you please come to sweden? Or somewhere even remotely close? Never stop making your music!
Hey, This is Erik Jonas from San Diego. I would like to hook up with you guys. Where are you guys at right now? I would like to meet you around the christmas time.

This is absolutely the most beautiful version of this song ever made. No other artist even comes close to Future of Forestry's version.

I love the change at about 3:59 …it's like it transitions from reverent awe to sheer joy. It's so perfect.

I see Christians still can't stop ripping off U2. Sigh. Can we find a new band to idolize for the next 20 years now?
