  • Awesome.

  • Very cool. As ever. An interesting funkified version that pays homage to the great Roy Hamilton who charted with this song in 1958 and sadly died in 1969. A very influential singer - especially on other vocalists.

  • this is a language that we all can understand, ooooeeee!

  • R.I.P. TO THE LATE GREAT ISAAC HAYES THIS WAS ONE OF THE ALL TIME BEST ARTESTS EVER GOD IS GETTING DOWN TO THE SMOOTH SOUNDS OF ISAAC HAYES. GOD BLESS ISAAC HAYES MAY WE GET TO HERE YOU WHEN WE REACH HEAVEN KEEP HEAVEN ROCKING

  • There were 2 other tracks off this album that I loved. "What Dose It Takeand A Few More Kisses to Go"

  • Isaac Hayes is one cool brother, great song of 1979. He turned the ladies on with his voice, him and barry white...RIP

  • I still remember when he did this on an episode of The A Team! hahaha

  • Takes me right back to late night college days.

  • The epitome of cool!

  • you have to love seeing him do the dance that was called the rock lol too kool

  • Just watched a great episode of Rockford Files with Isaac co starring in it which immediately reminded me of this great song. Great episode and great song!

  • CHEF!!!!

  • You can't get much cooler then Isaac, RIP Soul Man

  • Isaac hit #18 in Billboard, 2-2-80. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! RIP, Isaac.

  • Well...... I wouldn't stop for a million bucks.

  • Isaac Hayes > Barry White. Seriously.

  • @aldiakaroofus Ike was first.

  • @autsim That too!

  • @Risse227 : Ooooooooooooh I get it now............from The Freash Prince, right?!?!?! Ha ha ha... hillarious!!!

  • Gosh, this song is so HOT!!!!!!!!!!

  • Both versions of this song are great. Roy's is rockabilly and Isaac's is funky. Nothing wrong with having two great versions of the same great song sung by two great singers.

By the way, I'm so used to seeing Isaac behind an instrument that it never occurred to that I have never seen him dance. It's obvious from this video that he can't dance. That's alright. Neither can I.

  • Who on earth voted to dislike this? Get off the ride, you're slowing us down.

  • Isaac personified the word "smooooth"...

  • ISaac had so much swag, when he touched girls, they disappeared.

  • Roy Hamilton's original version is great but there is NO comparing the two. The styles are completely different. Love the funky, disco take Issac put to it. I agree w/ elvisworldwide. It is sexy! Lol.

  • I will always think of my drive from Marin County to Reno in 1980 to marry a gal I had known for 2 weeks. I think of it as my 7 month "date." Great sex, cocaine, and Korbel. Wild times. Aloha from Kauai.

  • Only version that did justice to Roy Hamilton's original version. This thing is sexy!

  • @elvisworldwide I agree. Very sexy. Lol. The arrangement w/ that voice...............

  • Male artists are younger today.....

I noticed b/c Hayes is standing there like a mature man, and not on the floor windin his pelvis up in some girls face.

    RIP I.H.

  • @HipHopcheerleader I noticed Isaac Hayes's standing over your little sister with his big black swinging dick in her ugly nappy headed face.

  • Issac Hayes used to whip Al Green up side his Nappy head with his foot long black snake.

  • I discovered how to pleasure myself the 1st time I saw this video

  • Billboard's #63 song of '80. Isaac hit #11 soul, #18 pop, in Billboard. God bless! RIP, Isaac.

  • @DaveWollenberg you once sucked Isaac Hayes big twelve inch dick and swallowed his pimpjuice...God bless!

  • Funky...

  • That looks like Aunt Viv dancing.

  • @Risse227 that is her....good eye!!!

  • @Risse227 Which 1? Janet Hubert, or, Daphne Maxwell?

  • @Risse227 I think it is at the "cave Inn" youngstown ohio 1979

  • This is my song...everytime I hear it I gotta blast dis shyt....."Don't let go yall"

  • I remember when he sang this song on the A-Team.

  • Hit #11 soul, #18 pop in Billboard. God bless! RIP, Isaac.

  • This song reminds me of Gus Williams, Dennis Johnson, Jack Sikma and the 1979 NBA champion Seattle Supersonics...now the Oklahoma City Thunder :(

  • Didn't George Jefferson and Tom Willis dance to this song on that episode when they went clubbin'?

  • @arkansoul Right. It was the only plan George came up with to stay in the strip club to get the wives out of there. That song is too funky that George was into stripping for real.

  • @21sttnmemphis You're from Memphis? I live in West Memphis...

  • @arkansoul Yes I am. We need more real musicians from here and everywhere else

  • @21sttnmemphis Bluff City hadn't put a singer out in a minute. Well, the mid-South for that reason...

  • This song came out in July of 1980 and was featured on the Black Moses album.

  • Actually it was in the USA Hot 100 in 1979 and took 13 weeks to get to the top 20 in the first week of 1980

  • Love this song /Thank you for who ever posted

  • Yeah.....I love this. Don't let go. Deep voice..."it's time to rock"
