do i have 2 use the fan controller. i will prefere that the computer adjust it self 2 the needed speed so i dont have 2. like adjusting for disktop speed, and if i wanna game i have 2 go 2 the back of the computer to switch to game speed. that whould be a pain in the a**.

i have the cooler master v8. and the same NZXT Apollo just like yours.. and i only have like a half inch between the v8 and window case.. this heatsink is the shiz... i overclocked my CPU i7 920 to 3.6GHz and only on half speed fan for the v8. and it idles about 30 - 31 C. i love it.! :D

q6600 ftw i got it stock speeds (getting new mother board soon) and i got an artic cooling extreme rev 2 , it idles at 18-23 degrees to 30-40 at full load actuly i dont think ive got it to 40

H50 ftw and u have cat man u will get all that fur in that Cpu fan lol ur gonna cry sollid and if u pass ur time taking it out for cleaning it ur gonna lose ur termal past and termal paste have to be on for some time to start working well and help to drop temp cause the contact wont be good till 2 week of turning on and off when ur done

A great case that fits this cooler is the Cooler Master Storm Sniper. Your post is a month old, so who knows if this helps at all, lol.

This was a great video review.  I have the same case and bought the same CPU cooler because yours fit, but I couldn't get my side panel back on. I think it's because my motherboard has the CPU placed at a slightly different place than you. But yeah, I ended up moving to a Cooler Master Storm Sniper mid-tower which was larger and just had much better ventilation and airflow. Nice video!

I have a nzxt vulcan Micro-ATX portable gaming tower, with an AM3 socket Micro-ATX MoBo. I want one of these cooler master V8(s) but I wont spend the $50 for one if it wont fit my case. Have you ever tried to cram one of these into a micro-case?

well im gonna get a Nvidia Geforce 260 for sure... my dad is saying there gonne come out with a octo-core i7 that'd be awesome. the case is gonna be amazing with like a 10-inch fan on top and like ten other 5-inch or so and then prob a V-8 like that so we can over clock it... first we'll check the temperatues before overclocking

As far as price/performance the V8 is one of the worst, performance is good but for the price you can get SO much better.

For anybody reading try the Xiggy Dark Knight much better price/performance ratio.

This CPU cooler ROCKS! It keeps my overclocked Core i7 920 (3.8Ghz OC) at 35C under load and 25C idle. Which is very impressive since the i7 can run safely at much hotter temps than previous CPU's. Of course I also have 6 additional 120MM fans in my case (Coolermaster Cosmos S).

And it's very quiet(!) -- if it weren't for my video card fan, my computer would be practically silent.
