Anyway, I used to be one of those people who stopped listening to new Nightwish. You know why? Because I was afraid that Anette's voice might not fit songs composed for Tarja to sing. But obviously I was wrong - some of them even sound better.

What I find striking about this, other than Anette sounding much better with this band than Nightwish, is the fact that she looked much better and happier. You can clearly tell which pics were taken in which era. I can only wonder why she had to grow her hair long, dyed black with colored highlight streaks through it? Hmmm, who was that one singer that used to do her hair that way, can someone refresh my memory? Stupid Tuomas, the root of the problem. Kick him out, let Anette and Tarja run it.

Have you ever seen Tarja perform? She certainly does more than just "stand off to the side". Look up End of an Era, and From Wishes to Eternity. Her energy is epic.

Singing classically is more difficult than playing an instrument, and not everyone can do it.
You can replace a person playing an instrument easier than a gifted vocalist, since another person can play the same instrument in a very similar way, but each person has their own unique voice, making it harder if not impossible for another person to duplicate.
What I see her doing with that extra energy is filling the songs with passion and making them come alive, giving them almost a magical quality.
This is what made Nightwish famous and so popular, it was that epic quality that their performances had which put them ahead of other bands within the same genre..

Honestly, she sounds pretty good in this particular recording. She should have stuck to this style of music, and encouraged her fellow band members to get some motivation, as they did sound good enough to score some album sales.

After hearing her sing live on MANY different NW videos, I can't see her getting her job in NW without some other talents beyond singing. She DID say in an interview that she was VERY persuasive with Tuomas to get the job. He had originally turned her down, but she said she ALWAYS gets what she wants, she's VERY persausive.

I started by commenting how she sounded pretty good in the clip, then people started giving me shit, so it went downhill from there. Anette is ok for some types of music, but not NW, and that is a fact. She overcompensates for her lack of musical ability by trying all sorts of different gimmacks, from HEP HEP to short skirts. It's sort of sad.

And she doesn't hang all over them they're just trying to interact while on stage.I'd rather see her hanging on him looking like she's having fun, then standing off to the side.And she usually has black tights, leggings or high boots on when she wears short skirts.But I still wouldn't say she dresses slutty.

Back when Tarja was in the band, there were 5 real musicians.
Singing classically is more difficult than playing an instrument, and not everyone can do it.
You can replace a person playing an instrument easier than a gifted vocalist, since another person can play the same instrument in a very similar way, but each person has their own unique voice, making it harder if not impossible for another person to duplicate.

What I see her doing with that extra energy is filling the songs with passion and making them come alive, giving them almost a magical quality.
This is what made Nightwish famous and so popular, it was that epic quality that their performances had which put them ahead of other bands within the same genre..
