  • The 5.0 is a nice engine. Except the mustang is not set up for a V8. The hot set up is the V6. A ecoboost V6 stang would be the best stang ever built. Ford wont build it untill they scrap all the other posers mustang sports cars. Shelby on down. Look at the 2012 boss. Reworked front a arms, pushing the front wheels as far forward as they can. Every test drive reads the same. Way too much nose dive under hard breaking. Get a V6 with a performance package. You'll love it.

  • Is that 2 pairs of mufflers I see? I see glasspacks midway and regular ones at the end. Those huge mufflers have got to go. I don't know why companies continue to put big restrictive mufflers on cars when consumers like a more efficient straight though design.

  • @jodl73 Because auto companies have to follow emissions and db restrictions that are set in place, plus their are alot of people who like to have a quiet car in the first place.

  • This 5.0 is Bad Ass!! Love the clean engine bay and factory cold air intake! Can't wait to buy one in RED!!!!

  • to many cats...cut them all off ;)

  • thanks so much for posting this, you never get to see this if you don't visit autoshows

  • I think the 5.0 come back is a great one, and hopefully one day when my 350z hits the high millage marker I could make a trade for this beast. Sadly I am ways of financially and millage wise, but that is okay as the ones that laugh last laugh the best.

  • Nice camera work-

  • flip that mother fucker over and put it in my garage

  • forget about all those little changes, Independent rear suspension would be a good start. Why won't you do that Ford? why?

  • @modelslist It keeps the cost down and I think there's heritage with the live axel. They've got suspension tuned so well now that they can keep it for a few more years.

Besides, when you get into 500+ hp, independent drive trains get very costly to repair.

  • when they did the retro redesign for the mustang it was planned for it to have an IRS, but someone was convinced that a live axle would save $100 per car than the IRS, it ended up costing $100 more per car than the IRS. So, in this case the live axle doesnt keep cost down

  • @alandona3

you must be smoking some really good stuff --- A live solid rear end can never cost as much as an independent rear end .Just check the complexity of the camaro rear end

  • @alandona3 thats incorrect. the community wanted live axle and it saves like 200lbs.

    there ya go.

  • @modelslist

because its not necassary. ford live rear is a seasoned tech that proves to be better if not equal to other companies irs. this mustang keeps up with the m3 in circuits

  • @AllCarsAllTheTime2 how do u know it keeps up with the m3?

  • @modelslist if irs is so good then why is it this mustang with its live axle now out performs a lot of your irs car's

  • its about F"n time....

  • great video man love to see that 5.0 on that beast

  • wish you got more (full picture) of the underside.

  • Weight dist has just as much to do with location as it does with weight alone. If you look at the motor. It sits at least halfway foward of the tower brace. Way ahead of the centerline of the front wheels. Take a look at a corvette. It's moter sits behind the front wheels. Even that didn't give the corvette a 50/50 weight dist. So they moved the tranny to the rear of the car. The first generation Mustang had better weight dist then this over glorifide 80's stang does. I pass untill 2014

  • @liellibg it has about the same weight distribution as the 2010

the engine is not fiscally bigger and only weighs 10 more pounds than the 4.6L. the whole car weights 3603lbs, only about 50lbs more because of upgraded suspension, brakes, and tranny. not bad for a V8 specially when the camaro and challenger weight 3800 to 4100lbs. theres few cars with 50/50 distribution, you mention the corvette which is in a different class and prices differ from 40k to 100k

  • @andrestnt dam you are good really smart comment keep up the good work i love the 5.0 i plan on getting one thanks for backing up ford i only buy ford right now i have a crown vick '01 and my dad had a f150 04 bless his soul

  • @griley266 its not really smarts its just common sense, how can a car like the mustang, have 60/40 weight distribution.thats ridiculous and it shows how uninformed you are.these "Muscle cars" are becoming sports cars, without loosing there identity and heritage. Crown vic's are awesome, i also have a 08 F150 very reliable truck, and very capable.

  • you don't even know what the weight distro is yet...

  • Im pretty sure the weight distribution will be better than that, in fact id put my money on 55/45, the 70s are over man the days of a big ole elephant big block weighing down the nose are over, its all aluminum small blocks now...which is also why the rumors of the mid-engine Corvette have been shot down, GM officials have come right out and said "its just too expensive to change for way to little a difference in performance, these days front engine cars handle the exact same anyways"

  • The alum motor has a 20% weight reduction. I read it weighed 10lbs more than the old motor. Beauitful looking car,hot motor. It must have a 65F/35R balance, if not worse. I hope the 2014 has a lot better weight dist with indept rear. Until then I'll pass. If they can't get it right by then. I'll buy something else. This could have been the car of the decade. If they just did it right. I'd like to see the V8 & V6 on a track. If the V8 only had the weight dist of the V6. It looks nice anyways

  • 65/35.? How big do you think this motor is? Do your research! Your right though. I wish this car had a 10 l motor in it too!

  • 53.9/46.1 weight balance for the 2010 i would suppose that the 2011 will be somewhere around 52/48 with the lighter block and heavier trans and rear end mods

  • Finally, Ford get's it right. Power, handling, good mpg's, and this body has decent looks.

The 370z is a great car, but nothing get's my adrenaline pumping better than a V8, especially a DOHC 32v 5.0L cranking out this kind of power n/a.

We'll see how the stock v/s stock comparison goes between the Camaro SS, 370z and Mustang GT. My guess is the 370z will be 3rd place except maybe handling. ;)

Oh, I forgot about the Challenger. Wonder why? Over weight and too big for my liking.

  • Yeah right

  • This car is going to crush, especially the 370z
