@NotreDameGirl77 Oh he's not, believe me. He seems to idolize them though. But hold on to that thought.. Being that you are here you are also interested in the subject at hand. How can you be so quick to judge? He craves attention. You seem to crave power. Who's more dangerous? You?......Or him?
Gilmore wasn't at all a "serial killer." He was a habitual criminal since a teen, with severe emotional and self-control problems. He shot his two victims 'cause he was pissed off that his girlfriend had recently left him and he couldn't handle his anger, wanted to take it out on someone. Couldn't find her, so he shot the nearest strangers available.
@PorkFrog i agree all people that had bad childhoods aren't serial killers but we can conclude that all serial killers had bad childhoods-that much we have learned-I'll next move is to try and predict which ones with bad childhoods we end up being a serial killers
@freetheserialkillers Actually, most serial killers are anarchists. They hate their country, they hate their family, they hate their friends and they hate their reality. They try to create their own. But in order to do this they have to live that fantasy while cloaking themselves as normal people in society. Quietly. Undetected. They stick to themselves and live inside the mind. The mind of a mad man is insidious and intoxicating like venom. You want a taste? Keep that attitude. You'll find it.
@Cakerolled Just because you don't get convicted;wouldn't change the fact it happened..Some people get charged for things they don't do;And some people walk away from things they do hands clean.
I just finished Shot in the Heart.... amazing to see the faces of the people in such an interesting story. This book is heartbreaking and a must read!!!
all these serial killers may have had a horrible childhood, and that plays a part at who they became when they get older, but they all had a choice to continue the cycle of violence.now i'm not saying this goes for everyone, hopefully someday people will stop hurting, and killing, but for now it all comes down to choosing to do so.we all have those thoughts of harming someone who has hurt us,its our choice to act,or not to.
It's not that wired that you are going to be violence (or even a murderer) as adult, if you get abused as a child.. No one should go through such childhood
i was abused as a child, and had to grow up,and act like an adult by the time i was 12,i was molested at 7,then again when i was 10,i was also beaten by my mothers boyfriends, and my brother, who was the one who melosted me when i was 7.i didn't turn out to be a killer,or a child molester,so i believe it all has to do with a choice,do i kill,or molest,or do i choose not to.
@winchell2 Everyone is psychological set up in different ways. You can put 1000 different people in the exact same setting and get 1000 different results. You were able to handle the abuse but some people cannot and they find alternative outlets to deal with their pain, such as killing.
The narrarator does seemto be rushing the story a bit but there's most likely lots of info to be shown to viewers of this documentary. I think we all know just by watching the first part here that Gary had a hard life
@breakfastclub75 I must agree...I read this book also.....people really need to read this book to get a better understanding of what happened to this man.

beginning of these stories is always the same-fucked up childhood
not all people with f-ed up childhoods become SK's, but all SK's had f-ed childhoods
at the very least they were lonely and dissociated as children
