I am extremely disappointed with the Bamboo performance in OneNote. I'm not sure if this is Microsoft's problem, or Wacom... but either way, it sucks. :/
Keep in mind when viewing this video, that the capacity for handwriting-text or markup is *sold separately* as a software package called JustWrite. This software does not come bundled with the Bamboo/Bamboo Fun (or Intuos, I think, their significantly more expensive model). So this is a bit deceiving - you can buy your Bamboo (Fun), but you'll have to purchase additional software ($30) for the capability you see in this video. Wacom sales may not make that explicit, fyi.
you have to go on the review tab, click "start inking". If it's not there you have to turn on the Tablet PC input service I think. Or at least there's something you have to turn on.
i bought the base model... one without a mouse and without software.
I figured any software I would need I can borrow off a friend or find a free alternative. And for the mouse, since I use it for my laptop, I just use the build in mouse.
Also I recommend Microsoft Office OneNote to use with this tablet. It comes in some versions of Microsoft Office (ultimate and enterprise have it). You can type AND handwrite easily.
bought mine at BestBuy around Christmas... the base (not the "FUN" model, and size small) model was on sale. I was gonna buy it at my University's store but the sale made it cheaper by like $20 at BestBuy.
