The slow versions work better in 3/4. I don't know why the 4/4 "clogging" versions have become so popular. This may be the best one because at least it's slow. Fast versions usually "wreck" Spanish Lady also. There's only one slow version on YouTube.
Slow is good with me... It's about some guy wishing he had this girl that he met. If he ended up with her then more upbeat would obviously be more appropriate (Not that I don't like the fast version, of course(Which I do...)).

Um, have you ever heard the Irish Tenors sing this??? It's very spirited, makes you want to dance. This makes you want to fall asleep! And they have very bad technique, as well. Plus they sound bored.
Actually with the voicing, chords and the piano part, this sounds exactly like the arrangement I bought for my quartet. Although I prefer the the faster version, this arrangement is mark "slowly with feeling" at the top.
The director is taking at about 82 clicks (I think the part is marked for 84), but I think if he sped it up to between 112 - 115 clicks it would be much better.
I liked this version more than some of the rock versions (talk about the wrong style!). This group is also a lot better than all the famale vocals I've heard singing it. --As if there aren't enough songs written for female vocals, so they have to sing one written for a male vocal...
This is pretty good, but I prefer a faster interpretation of this this song.
