Quite a few white tigers have existed in the wild, thats why the genes are still around today. If they all died before they bred the genes would of died too.
Also there is no need to inbreed tigers to make white ones. Any tigers with the white gene can produce white babies even if the parents themselves are orange.
Use a white tiger, breed with unrelated orange, then breed one of the cubs with another white and you have 50% chance for a white cub.

Quite a few white tigers have existed in the wild, thats why the genes are still around today. If they all died before they bred the genes would of died too.
Also there is no need to inbreed tigers to make white ones. Any tigers with the white gene can produce white babies even if the parents themselves are orange.
Use a white tiger, breed with unrelated orange, then breed one of the cubs with another white and you have 50% chance for a white cub.

Do a simple search for "wild white tigers" on google and you will find countless sources. Quite a few have been spotted, some caught and there are quite a few skins of white tigers from back in the late 1800's-mid 1900's.
And as i said you dont need white tigers to have white babies they just need orange ones with the genes.

i think its called genetic inheritance i just learned this this year even if the tiger, like sprinkle said, is orange it can still be a hybrid, carrying genes from its ancestors of orange or white so it can still pass it on to their offspring

White tigers are not CAUSED by inbreeding. The white color is just a random trait that humans have artificially encouraged in captivity, unfortunately through the practice of inbreeding because it is so rare...

...Double recessive genes that cause unbeneficial traits exist in nature. Carriers survive because they are unaffected, but offspring that show the trait will probably die. There's nothing wrong with breeding a small isolated population of captive white tigers (assuming the "rejects" were well cared for and not allowed to breed with non-carriers,) but subjecting a large population of an endangered species to inbreeding, should be outlawed.

Yes, the cubs are cute, but, white tigers are unhealthy creatures. In order to 'create' one, related tigers are forced to breed...mother & son, father & daughter, brother & sister.
These animals do not exist in the wild. They are a MAN MADE creation. They suffer many health problems as a result of the severe inbreeding that takes place.
75-80% of ALL white tigers born are severely deformed or retarded and are either killed or abandoned...this is a fact.

Actually their mother produces a white kind of film i guess you could say that makes some of the cubs white. A orange Bengal Tiger female and male can produce some white offspring that is why they are so rare too.

White tigers have a double recessive gene that is only shown possible to happen because of inbreeding. If you mate a white tiger and and bengal tiger that are not related, the cubs will all be orange.

White tigers are only bred for commercial value, they have no conservation value whatsoever as it requires inbreeding to produce more. They all come from one bloodline so inbreeding depression is very common. Gentic diseases are the result. please support tiger breeding but not white tiger breeding as they are not a seperate species and decrease the survivability in the wild.

Believe it or not the first white tiger was found in the forest of Rewa in India. I don't think tigers should be inbread either its bad. They are beautiful in the natural orange color. If a white one is born fine but you are right to just breed them to be white by inbreeding is terrible for their health.
