  • Kill that tenor at 1:09 pleaase !

  • @tetrazzini why because he drowns her

  • And Sutherland what a voice!!Even at her 61!!

  • @MariaCallasLegend Yes, I thought she was extraordinary as the Bolena. The role seemed to bring her to life again vocally.

  • the worst is devia!!So much wobble!!

  • @MariaCallasLegend What on EARTH was wobbly about that high D? It was spinning beautifully

  • @sour7lemon it was wobble!!i dont know if you know the exact meaning...but it is the way i listen it maybe...

  • @sour7lemon also her singing is not sechronize with orchestra somtimes and she seems to be in bad vocal form...yes her D was good but the rest is not good!!

  • Miricioiu... ORRORE! Devia y claro Sutherland, mucho mejor.

  • ORRORE!

  • I've never heard of Nelly - is she any good?

  • C'EST EVIDENT APRÈS CALLAS, TOUTES ESSAIENT DE FAIRE DE SON MIEUX....... ELLES ARRANGENT LA MUSIQUE SELON SES CAPACITES ET COMMENT ELLES PEUVENT MIEUX S'EN TIRER

  • How I wish we had a video of Beverly Sills in this role, to say nothing of CALLAS! None of these ladies really does it for me. Serra may come closest, believe it or not, although her voice really doesn't say "Bolena" to me and the high note is rather perfunctory. Sutherland's is perfectly sung but poorly acted, Miriciou's far below her usual standards of excellence, and Devia's dull as dishwater -- as usual.

  • Dame Joan is the Queen of this music.

  • Sutherland rocks in this though, especially for it being so late in her career. The whole DVD of that performance is great, despite the transposed keys for a few arias.

  • Serra is so dreadfully bad in every video I've seen of her in this role. SO annoying. Too bad we don't have videos of Callas, Galvany and Gencer doing this scene....

  • Sutherland was the best. And Devia was also fantastic!!

  • Dame Joan did well for her age, but Mariella Devia was clearly better. Thanks for yet another highlight.

  • Anna Bolena well you just come past Joan !! and at 58 !!

  • Who was that dreadful tenor with Nelly Miricioiu? He sounded like a cat on that last note. Very unwise of him to attempt it.

    Brava Joan!

  • I know! Was he on drugs, thinking he could hit that? He missed it by a mile! Ouch.

  • @ChrisStockslager i think he had a really really hoarse throat on the day of the performance

  • And AGAIN!!!!!!!

Joan is the Queen of this music.

No Bolena came near her rendition.

We are humble and gracefull in your prime!!!!!!!!

    Brava La Stupenda.

  • Dame Joan. How I love you.

  • Oy. Sutherland and that STUNNING top note. Huge by any standards, and amazing singing leading up to it.

  • Miricioiu and Fowler... Rather foul, to say the least. Devia is magnificent. Sutherland, only six years away from retirement, learned this role for the Canadian Opera Company in 1984. At 58 here, she's damned good, a testament to her incredible technique and vocal longevity.

  • The first clip was a hot mess! LOL

Mariella Devia was divine, by far the best! Great video, thanks!

  • brava mariella , beautiful high note, bravaaaaaaaaa sutherlandddddddddddddddddddd i love you
