The best way to explain this is by using a TV remote control that contains the numbers, 0 to 9. Number 9 becomes 10 when you add 1 to it. 10 means you have a group of ten ones and zero ones.
This is great tutorial, however, there is no such thing as number 10, we have to teach our kids that there is zero in decimal system, 0 to 9. There are ten characters in the decimal system. They need to know the positional notation at an early age so they can grasp the concept of numbers. Best, Dr. D

it is much better to read books because it will enhance their brain and their imagination as well :))
