  • It works! OMG OMG OMGO MG OMG OMG OMG!

  • You are the devil. This works!!!! How?

  • thanks, totally work, nice.

  • mother fucking worrrked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!yaaaa hooooooooooo

  • well you don't really have to hold your hand thing, holding your breathe is all what matters

  • i just shitted bricks when this worked

  • @slayerkitaro hmmm... well that's my first time hearing about that particular side effect of this cure. But I guess it was at least nice to not have the hiccups anymore...

  • Thank you so much! I had the absolute worst case of hiccups in my entire life. I tried everything: drinking water, just holding my breath without your trick, eating dry bread but your trick actually worked! Thanks dude. I'm gonna pay it forward next time someone i know gets the hiccups.

  • IT WORKED!!! I've had the hiccups for the past 6 hours... I tried this and it actually worked!! It did take me a few tries but hey, they're gone now!! Thanks! :)

  • Glad to hear! Also good to know that it's something that can work on the very rare occurrence that it doesn't work the first time. :-)

  • I tried remembering this trick off by heart earlier today, but I used my middle finger instead of my ring finger. I looked up this video and I wasn't anywhere near a mirror, so I focused on the TV screen instead. If the mirror is vital, than I must look a lot like Emily Browning, despite being a guy.

  • You know, actually... since making this video I've discovered the same thing. You don't need a mirror. Now I instruct people to just look at a fixed point. Thanks for pointing that out!

  • dude wtf this ACTUALLY WORKED FOR ME! i had the hiccups all day yesterday and half the day today and i was about to go buy some drug to help me but this actually worked! thanks

  • sweet! so glad I could help!!! :-)

  • all you gotta do is concentrate on something else besides the hiccups... my science teacher did a really good job of proving this when he strolled over when i had some intense hiccups and then casually pulled out his clip wallet and shufled through his money and told me to hiccup again and hed gimme a 5

    i couldnt hiccup anymore

  • i dont mean to say mine is better cause iv never tried urs but i always hold my breath for ten seconds and then swallow and it works

  • i always ate a teaspoon of sugar wen i got them but ur way is faster ,easy, and saves time

  • the water stuff did not work but this worked great I am happy now!!!!!!

  • yessss finaly somthing worked

  • I wish I Could tie a string to my hiccups...

  • the best way to get rid of hiccups is eat a bowl of rice krispies with milk on them it works every time i thank any cerial wold work please rate this thumbs up if it helps

  • Why the hell would you go through the trouble of going and getting rice krispies, milk, and eating it when you can just do the thing I'm showing. It's quick, free, easy, can be done everywhere, and works 100% of the time.

I don't get why more jackasses keep adding other ways to cure hiccups.

  • because i hust got hiccups from drinking to many beers then smoking a cigar then i tryed this personaly im assuming i dont have the lung capacity to do this i tryed it but ive smoked for 12 years and cant hold my breath for more than 1 min because my lungs are fucked then after i tryed your way (i held my breath till i was shaking like the last chick i fucked)and wen i gasped for breath less than a min later they where back then i went and had a bowl of special k with milk and they where gone

  • that actually worked i cant believe it and it just so happens that i had hiccups while i was doing this

  • you can get the same results by just holding your breath...the hand thing is superfluous, but I guess it just serves as a fun distraction for while you're holding you breath.

  • No you can't. You need that distraction, and you also need certain muscles in your body pulling a bit to go ALONG with holding your breath. That's what makes this THE CURE.

  • Ok I see you're very enthusiastic about your method--truth be told--many other methods work. My comment is based on personal experience. Perhaps your method is more effecient, I shall try and see--but interestingly enough I can't remember when was the last time I had hiccups!

  • heres a better and more ifficient one:

Get a glass of liquid, and place a pencil/pen on the top and drink the water while staring at the pencil or pen. Once the liquid is gone you are cured! :D

  • How is getting a glass, water, and pencil and doing all that more efficient? With mine you just hold your hands for a few seconds. And it works every freaking time. All these other ways have maybe %50 success rates at best. This one is THE CURE. Stop questioning, and just do it.

  • the joke at the end was so funny

  • i just tried this (i had the hiccups) and it worked i think it has something to do with concentrating hard on a few things.

  • it works......I think! The nerve in your ring finger is connected to the nerve in your stomach which is where you get Hiccups from because Hiccups is only trapped air in your stomach and I think the does something to the stomach but dont ask me what!

  • im gonna say all these cures are ridicioulous the most effective cure out there is getting scared or just......"breathing"..

  • How is doing a simple hand gesture and holding your breathe ridiculous if it works every single time?

  • OMFG! are u kidding me? I tried this and it worked, so awesome thank u! I HATE THE HICCUPS! now I don't have to deal with them ever again.

  • haha laughed so hard when u explained why the joke u made in the end was funny :P

  • a better way to cure hiccups is fill your mouth half full with water stare at the ceiling and wait til your hiccups force you to swallow

  • Saving the world... from the hiccups.

  • The reason this works is because hiccups can go away on their own (very) gradually if you dont think about them,so since you are concentrating on staring at your eyes, doing this strange hand gesture and holding your breath, this cure works, people.

  • ty dude this worked for me

  • lol

    this is funny

  • I once had hiccups for two whole days... not funny whe trying to sleep, eat or do anything else for that matter.

  • Actually, just make sure that when you're breathing in, you're stomach area goes outward, and when you breath out, it goes in.

  • omg i had the hiccups at the first part of this video but then i did the tridk and it acutally worked!!!!!! thanks!!

  • hiccups are due to a stimuli to the nerve that controls the diaphragm (the muscle you use to breathe below the lungs) thats why they say to hold your breath to make it go away. If it helps, try practicing taking deep breaths at a constant rate. If not, try rubbing the front of your chest with pressure. Always works :)

  • i sometimes get hiccups, if i ever get them bad i'll try this and comment again and let you know if it worked.

  • This works guys!

  • Drinking something works fine for me, so I don't think I'll be trying this.

Still, thanks for putting this up.

  • Dude... not to sound gay or anything, but if you were here right now, i'd hug you! I had hiccups for 24+ hours. Ate sugar, peanut butter, etc. You name it, I tried it. I was starting to consider going to the hospital for real! This worked, and you are a genius! Thank you thank you thank you! You should get the nobel peace prize! lol.

  • you sir, just made my day.

  • Man o man... I feel like a new man... Phenomenal... Checked out some of your other vids too... You're a pretty funny guy... haha. Straw through a potato vid was good... lmao.

  • I think you just hold your breath. :x

  • i think it worked!

  • fucking amazing

  • orange jucie is the best cure

  • Sorry But I have to say, that didn't work for me :(

  • Actually I did it wrong and wasn't staring at my eyes and so i did it again and they dissapeared!!!

  • idk if it works or not

  • wow. thanks for that valuable input

  • HAHAHAHA!

  • HAAAAAAAAAAA

  • omg I can't do it, my finger dosen't stay up! what works for me every time is to drink a cup of water through a straw while plugging your ears. It works every time, we researched it in science, it blocks the eustachan tubes or something

  • LOL! Not funny? It was VERY funny. what I try to do is take a deep breath and hold it untill the next hiccup and i suppress the hiccup.

  • lol

  • O_O

  • LOL worked it also worked if i just press my two hands together with enough strength. So I'm guessing just express a certain amount of force and you will be cured =]

  • Didn't work.

  • Did you take it seriously and take a deep deep breath?

  • Actually, I think I couldn't figure out the position to hold my hands in. But I some sugar and it was gone! But then I was a little hyper-active...

  • that would work. I find any form of concentration will divert your mind away from your hiccups and then they go away. In someways it's all in your mind. :)

  • lol, i get hiccups so bad i die! omggg, and i know the trick to your thing! when your mind is focused something you dont get them.

  • okay someone i use that works SOMETIMES is take a decent amount of water in your mouth and dig your chin into your neck and THEN swallow

  • omg omg omg!!!! i just tried it and it realy worked!!! THANKS!!!!!!!

  • Great! Glad it worked for you!

  • WOW IT REALLY DOES WORK!! like first i tried it on myself. and it stopped straight away, which was important cause i'm in customer service and it's bad for me to have the hiccups when i serve people. and it stopped straight away, i didn't even need to get dizzy like most times when i stop my hiccups by holding my breath. :O then my friend tried it aswell AND IT WORKED! :o wow. thanks mann!! nah but seriously, how does pinching fingers got to do with hiccups? magic

  • Yeahh!!! That is so awesome!! I'm so glad it worked for you and your friend!

I think pinching the fingers in that way must slightly pull out the diaphragm muscle. And the holding the breath and the focusing helps whatever mental thing goes along with hiccups.

  • ohh cool, i told everyone about it and they don't believe me, they think i'm crazy! but really that is awesome! i'll tell them that or somthing :)

  • I've always held my breath, it normally works.

  • nice video,it actually works~!!

  • I went back to your Blendtec vid and I read the e-mails. i was suprised to see how "normal" that Kels guy was, but kind of naive.

  • What I do for hiccups is:

    1. Take a sip of water

    2. Tilt your head upside down

    3. and drink the water...

I never knew it was a real cure...I was just messing around when I did it...

  • i think you're hot... and it does work btw... lol i think it has more to do with your concentration than anything else.

  • Woah, someone who's certifiably sexy thinks I'm hot!

So you've seen this trick before, then? I wouldn't doubt that it's mostly about concentration. But I also think there is a tiny element of muscles being pulled/tightened and stuff.

    Thanks for commenting!

  • I'm not certifiably sexy but I also agree that you are super cute. :)

  • The best trick I have is to swallow a tablespoon of sugar. Always stops me from hiccuping. And I dont know if I'm certifiably sexy, but yes, I do think you're yummy. haha

  • watch my solutions to hiccups their even sexier

  • Hey its about time your put a new video out! I've been missing them! Good video like always! But, I have one problem with that. I always get hicups while eating, always! So what am I supposed to do in a resturant? Its not like I carry string around with me.

  • haha nice vid nice i haven't had hiccups in years

  • I'll have to try that next time. I found that taking a deep breath through my mouth, holding that breath for as long as I can, then exhaling very slowly through my nose works very well, though sometimes I have to do it two or three times. Anyway, save for that whole "hiccups hurt like hell" thing, I'm looking forward to seeing if this works for me. :)

  • drink from the far side of the glass- always works for me...

  • OMG, thanks, that help me alot!

  • I always did the drinking ten sips of water without taking a breathe , but you have to hold your nose while you do it so you don't try and sneak in some air ! That always worked for me.

  • ahahahah that was great. speacially liked the ending. i get the hiccys alll the time. i usualy eat like 8 spoonfuls of sugar... and it taste good, but i dont think it works lol

  • Yeah, the sugar one I remember trying and having zero luck with. I don't even get why that would have any chance of working.

  • I have a video response for this one!

  • lmao, i loved your imitation of people. But i ussually just hold my breath as long as i can and it works every time.

    your hilarious.

and can you really be hospitalized for hiccups?

  • hmmm, yeah, maybe not "hospitalized" but at least taken to the doctors. Wouldn't they shoot steroids into your stomach or something? I don't know.

  • lol, to make your diaphram muscles stronger? idk, wouldnt it make your hiccups stronger?

  • They do use steroids for some pretty crazy things. It's probably more commonly called "getting a cortisone shot", though.

  • I'll give it a try next time I get them, if I remember. My personal long running trick is like the water thing but to have 2 large glasses, sometimes 3, filled to the top with water and chug them back to back as fast as you can. Just sharing.

  • That's the hot shit remix cure. I'd think trying this cure would entice a very obese man in a straw hat and overalls to appear and say:

"YOU DON'T HAVE THE HICCUPS SON!... YOU GOT THE RETARDATION!"

  • Having upside down drinking lemonade works for me.

  • And by having, I meant hanging.

  • cool now i want hiccups so i could try that lol

  • ANother way you can do it is fill a glass to the top with water and then drink from the other side. TO where your chin is like in the cup, but not really. And then you drink.

  • Yeah, I had tried that one too. Never really worked for me. All of the "drink something in a weird way" never seemed to do it. I love this trick because of both the distraction it gives you, and the tightening of the various muscles.

  • Okay, I'll let you know if it works for me...I get hiccups all the time! "...slam the door"...LOL

  • Great! I really do hope it works! Let me know what happens...
