I enjoyed this film, especially the spanking scenes which were done so sensitively, and with so much love and affection. All spanking shoud be administered with love, and this video indicates how to do it.
Thank you vanman - the song played once the car starts moving is, indeed, 'muskrat ramble' and I thank you for this information - which I was previously unfamiliar with. However my original question regarded identifying the song from the first 30 seconds which is a different song.
See Wikipedia: "The word ātman is connected with the Indo-European root *ēt-men (breath) and is cognate with Old English "æthm" and German "Atem". Atmet is not only "breathe" in German but was the early term for the Holy Spirit "Der Heilge Atem". Pneuma in Greek, Ruach in Hebrew and Spiritus (cf respire) in Latin all connote both breath and Spirit.
Thank you Miss Rosemaidens - I was already sure that the vocalist was Ms Boswell but have still been unable to trace the song. I shall now conduct my search through Mr Crosby.

I believe the vocalist is the great Connee Boswell of the Boswell Sisters.
The band may well be Bob Crosby's Bobcats.

Can anyone identify the song, and the performer, played in the first 25 seconds of this excerpt. Thank you so much. Rex.
