the anti-war protests didn't start until around 2003 or 2004...that attack was on 2001...and the protest wasn't about 9/11/2001 at all, it was about the war...

there were MASSIVE anti war demonstrations through out the country prior to the US military campaigns in afghanastan and iraq.
soldiers are coming back from iraq fired up to end the war.
