  • Unfortunately the camera I had decided to quit working. I have tutorials for the parts I had to learn by ear, the rest I found tab for online. If I ever am able to purchase a new camcorder I'll do a video for the rest of the song.

    Thanks for watchin!

    Rock forth and prosper.

  • @kickandstretch50 Awesome job dude!!! I am an old classic rocker and you did that justice...

  • And Steve happened to be from a town commonly referred to as Mudville, same place where I grew up. Good job Mr. Mude

  • Well done, I'm learning it now but you kick ass.

  • Ha! A little AC rhythm, Gaines flat pickin' and Rossingtons fat solo. Too cool kid.

  • fantastic, you have a great talent!

  • You've got one hell of a talent. Amazing!

  • Wow!!! Ive seen covers of this before on youtube and none of them did the song justice. But you, you are unbelievable! I love Skynyrd, Rossington was always my fave guitarist but Gaines is growing on me big time. You truly did a fantastic job, man. It was so damn enjoyable watching you play, you'll have me jivin in my sleep tonight. I like you piano done on guitar, too. You are quite talented. I'm glad Gaines is being remembered. 5/5, hands down amazing!

  • good job but, steve gaines wrote this song and skynyrd did it,but good job

  • I don't recall giving the credit to a specific person, but yeah I'm aware he was performing this song before his time with Skynyrd. I also love "one in the Sun" and "Ain't no good life".

  • Nice ! Skynyrd is the best ,I saw them in 1975 when they were just Gary & Allen on guitars, then they got Steve and he really added a lot on the one more from the road & street survivors .thanks for that

  • way to pick man!!!! 5* and Skynyrd Forever!

  • you kick almighty ass ! i never wat to pick my guitar again !!!!

  • No man its the opposite You should never want to PUT DOWN your guitar ever again, thats the key!

  • man you roock!!!!

  • Stand back every one, this guys on Fire!

  • Jeremy Mude - You are one of the best young guitarists playing one of the most inspirational numbers, your interpretation, shows tons of discipline and accuracy, great technique and I feel the groove. Congratulations and thanks for keeping this great work alive. I know a little by LS to me is a Masterpiece. Thanks for showing the world how its done.

  • hjere, are you playing the guitar with this, ... tracked out?,, .. i dont know, .... im asking, is so, you ae great, but without watching, im hearing steve gains, .... please advise

  • I'm just playing along with the CD, the guitar and disc are running on a Tascam guitar trainer with the sound running out to computer speakers. During the verses I kinda do my own take of the Rhythm so you can really compare how loud I am versus the disc in those parts. Also in the middle solos.

  • completely awesome dude! yer rockin!

  • Just came across this on you tube.I lived and played with Steve Gaines for over 2 years. We played this song at every gig.Band was called Rio Smokehouse.I have heard so many guys play this and you my man are best. it's scary, at first I thought you were faking it like lip syncing on guitar. You even did the bottle neck parts without a bottle neck. Steve was the greatest guitar player and most humble guy you'd ever meet .Thanks for this.Peace Jimmy Hanson (Rio Smokehouse 71-73

  • I'm truly speechless! I don't know what to say. He is one of those guys where I probably shouldn't listen to him while I drive because I'd lose focus of the road and hurt myself! Thank you for writing me and giving me your time.

  • Shorty "Medlocke" sorry I spelled the man's name wrong and I'm sittin here talkin bout history.. sheesh. That old guy co wrote some of BlackFoot's Best tunes look them up.

  • Really good guitar playing, but this isnt country... its southern rock

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd did have many songs that are pure rock, but this one is pretty much country flavor through and through. Back in high school I heard a version of this on country radio, not sure who by, but it sounded virtually the same. Skynyrd is rock but their roots are country, they'll tell you that. Shorty Medloke will tell you that. I've done my research, I know whats up with Roy.

  • this is defenatly not country

  • Um, have you been to the country¿

  • Sure want to go with me some time?

  • dude, your sick, thats awesome! u played the piano solo too, incredible

  • very nice job... so continue to keep on keeping on

  • i love tits

  • This is great man, awesome job.

  • Great job at merging two of the three guitars in the verse of this song you did it seamlessly. I wish I had thought of it.

  • this is my favorite song by lynyrd skynyrd great job!

  • Way to go! And I always thought this song was hard to play.. :)

  • hey man that's awesome can you get me re tabs for that song?

  • Phenominal! Been playin it for years - but not like that! Thanks for sharing.

Even the piano parts - most excellent!

Really nice job. Jur Mom ever tell you how good you are? - J

  • I think she wanted me to go draw Disney cartoons but I didn't really want to fight a bunch of other artists for a chance to animate cuddle critters. Ended up in a good day job with art and music in the evenings. I leanred some Ventures stuff my Dad thought was pretty cool. My mom just wants to hear Wipe out

  • sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn thtas a hard song to play nice job

  • Great job! You are ripping it!!!!

  • hey that was great! I am more of a blues guy but im really starting to like lynard skynard. That was sweet.

  • thats some good tone

  • Hey johnnyboy if u r a pioneer of southern rock, that was steve gains playing with a srat

  • You got that Terry Kath thing going on.

  • Good job Bro.

  • you are freakin awesome...i was showing my 7yr. old great solos and you pop up with rossington and collins sound man you are for real.......................i am a southern rock pioneer....WOW!!!!!!!

  • Waouw, what a good job..Man, you play very good, it's so amazing...Waouw ^^

  • dude that was kick ass and i found ya lesson on the dobro solo and the piano lesson really helpful now i just need to get up to speed and learn past the first few bars of this song LOL. well keep on rockin man.

  • well done done!! :)

  • Dude thats was spot on!

If you dont mind telling me, how did you learn this? All by ear? I cant find any lessons on here for it either. Great Job

  • i have learnt the bass line to this song, i had to do it all by ear as no-one has got any tabs/music or lessons on the net for it . google came up with some results but not that much selection.

  • Man thats awesome. Sweet!

  • Awesome job! Keep up the god work. I posted the bass part that I just did.

  • Good work son!!! Ole Stevie would be Proud.

  • WTF!!!!!! that was amazing u got the piano solo and the slide solo, my favorite part is 2:27- 2:37 the best part, nice job!

  • i love your cover of "i know a litle" if you dont know what im talkin about, look at the beginning of the video closely...

lol, well awesome job dude! that was sick!!@!

  • Yeah I pointed out in my description that I intentionally spelled it that way because it was spelled like that on the face of my Skynyrd CD. I thought it was strange but who am I to argue so I spelled it various ways on this page(I used to tease a band mate constantly about his spelling so I have to watch my Back! Lol)

  • Even got the piano solo nailed! Excellent work!

  • I was gonna comment on how it likes like you are using a pick (it really looks like you are gripping something) but then I watched the beginning again and saw you played this au natural.

Very nice job, man. I haven't seen much from a Jaguar before but you got a damn fine tone out of it. Skynyrd rocks, southern rock kicks ass

  • When I first started, I boycotted the pick out of frustration (for about 6 months) so I got used to using my index nail to pick, except when I break it off I'm screwed for a week! I need to invest in some acrylic coating or somethin. The pick-up you hear is a Seymour Duncan Screamin Demon that I put in a few years ago, it was crucial for the rock stuff.

  • Right on the money Brother!! Excellent Job!!

  • Damn Son... That's awesome.

  • sounds great, but I'd like to hear it with soundtrack turned down some more, its kinda drowning you out. nice job though from what i could tell

  • AWSOME UR GOOD!!!!!

  • WOW.....you are great.....Thanks for the pleasure~!~!~!

  • I am 7 and that was cool r.d.v

  • How old are you boy!! You get on my nerves...

    ;o)

  • My boss says the same thing. I'll be 29 this August.

  • whoa you look like 16 or 17 no offense.

  • awesome cover!

  • ...ive been in that room...yeah the closest thing to the actual jeremy mude as your gonna get...$10 to touch me....

  • That is truly amazing. How much did the guitar cost you? Also. what model is the amp and how much did that cost too as it really makes the single coils sound less twangy. AESOME playing man.

  • The guitar was about $1,300 from the factory. Actually the pick up you hear in this video is a "single coil-sized" humbucker called "The Seymour Duncan George Lynch Screamin Demon". I installed it in the neck position so I could alternate between hard rock and country tones. I still have on factory pick up for the real warm stuff.

  • you're really good! is that a jaguar?

  • Yeah, its a reissue of the 1962 model. I ordered it from the factory about four years ago. I love it, my other electric guitars are dusty!

  • does the tascam guitar trainer take out the guitar track?

  • No, it has a feature that lets you reduce certain frequencies but I don't use it. To nail this song, I started with it slowed down, looping a few measures and jamming along till I had it. You can change the songs Key also, if you get one.. try changing the key on an Ozzy song, making his vocals even higher its pretty funny.

  • thats the shit man! excellent playing!

  • As they say in scotland 'that's the bollocks!' Can you play it again, but a bit slower for me? Good man!

  • Yes man ! that's great.. you're playin' is great !

  • its not realy country. its classic rock/blues

  • While it is true that Lynyrd Skynyrd is filed under classic rock, and they definately rocked hard, many of the roots of their music came from country (Shorty Medlock for example). My comment was directed toward this tune in particular which has a huge Western swing influence, thats pretty much exactly what it is, its just Steve's way of delivering it.

  • Dude I've been playing for 35 years and you just KICKED MY ASS! Fuckin' fantastic. Keep it up. Steve Gaines would be proud of what you've done with song. Totally fucking awesome.

  • Great playing. You sound like an old man who´s played guitar since the 50´s.

  • Great guitar player, bro! I posted a video response. That's my band playing in 1996, in Brasília. Sory, the vocal cant speak english... but we try! I play bass. Keep on rocking!!!

  • Dig it!!!

  • Fuck yeah dude! Great riffs, and thought I heard a coupe of extras. Yaaaaaaa!!!!!!

    Fuckn a!

  • best cover of this on youtube. im actually in the middle of learning this one

  • ~SWEET~

  • xcellent jeremy..

  • That was cool. A bit louder would have worked better..

  • Actually, I'm pretty much drowning out the other guitars. If you listen to the later verses you can really tell because I stray from the basic rhythm and add some fills. During the piano part, I'm competing with the piano which often occupies the same frequency ranges of high guitar parts and drowns the guitar out. He and I are doing virtually the same notes, piano usually wins the volume fight. Thats why my volume seems to go down on the piano solo. Come see me live, it'll be louder!

  • sweet job brother

  • nice man.

  • good job man...crank it up!

  • Jeremy , that was cool , but you need to be just a hair louder , especially on the piano solo. But I still loved it , you throw !

    Way to go!!!

  • Boy, you do it right, for sure! Keep it up! Enjoyed the video immensely!

  • That's bloody tight, mate!

  • how do you like your jag?

  • When I first got it, it was great for surf rock and country, the intonation wasn't great due to the obsolete tremolo system. I swapped out one of the stock pick ups for one with more of a Metal sound. I bolted down the tremolo system, shimmed the neck, replaced the bridge for a "Mustang" style, put on Locking tuners, and fattened the bridge posts(also for intonation). Now I love it, I can sound just about any way I want (from Skynyrd, Metallica, Stevie Ray Vaughn etc.)

  • Heey .. Did you find the Piano solo tabs on the internet ???

  • Nice pickin' my man!

  • Very Impressive. Keep it up!!!

  • Good job kid!!! I am glad to see real music is being preserved, you play well! I wanna see you do "call me the breeze"

  • WILL DO SIR, THANKS FOR THE COMMENT.

  • I agree this is absolutly perfect. Just like Gains, ya ol' okie....Great job man on this and the Pink Floyd look forward to seing some more.

  • AHHMM GOHNA SICK UH OKIE ON YA!!

  • That is awesome!

    could you tab this?

your guitar it's very nice and sounds perfect

    great job

  • I'm not really sure how to make the type of tabs you would see on a Normal guitartab site. With the exception of the Piano solo and the Dobro solo, I just used tab I found online. I could hand write those, scan em, and email them to you if you like.

  • you sound just like steve gains and I dont say that lightly

  • its a nice jaguar. its usually hard to find them. how good are they compared to the strat and tele. i never never tried a jag yet

  • They require some mods if you intend to use them in for hard rock. I put in a screamin deamon Seymour duncan pick up and did a few tweeks for better intonation. I had mine made from the Fender Factory. Its a replica of the 1962 model, which has a few pieces of hardware that are widely considered obsolete, the bridge for example-I swapped out for a "mustang" style one.

  • Thank You!! I love that tune. . .you nailed it!!

  • This was amazing man! 5 STARS!!!!!

  • Great job, man!

Although, I wouldn't consider Skynyrd to be Country.

  • True, but this particular song comes from the style of guys like Jimmy Rogers who were solid country. Alot of Steve Gaines' style was rooted in western swing style, its so infectious.

  • That's funny... Of all the Skynyrd songs, that has always been my favorite to play. Good job

  • K&S50,You asked what i think about your guitar playin on this one,You nailed it!!!Really nice.

  • Thanks man. I think what you're seeing was take #4! I busted ass on this one in my spare time. I want to eventually find a band that wants to jam stuff like this, maybe just do a trio situation.

  • great bro

  • Youve got it down way better than I do. It sounds pretty damn good.

  • mate, too good.

  • Thanks for the comment, I just watched your version - OUCH! You've got this DOWN. I like the special touch of doing the piano solo too, go ahead, just rub it in! 5 stars

  • I felt weird just playing rhythm through the other two solos. I've read alot about the benefits of studying the way other instruments (horns, pianos particularly) go about their melodies, this was my first attempt at it. I wish I could say I just pulled this out, but I spent quite a bit of time fine tuning it. Thanks for checkin out my vid

  • Right on Brotha get after it!!

  • SWEEEEET!!! Hey why don't you play something easy! LOL

  • great job!! great song!!
