  • nice shredding! this video just confirmed my decision - i'm getting one to shred on!! thanks for the vid

  • Definitely Shredding! Nice Job. I have one and love it! Anyone here mod theirs?

  • To all people wanting to learn how to shred: This guitar is so easy to play that it feels like nothings there. Believe me, I have one myself. If you want to learn how to shred then you should buy one of these. The necks just a little bit shorter than a normal scale guitar so it allows you fingers to stretch farther on the fretboard than they normally would. It helps a lot with playing arpeggios.

  • If you are on a budget and want something fun to play on the go, then I would suggest you get one. Even with the problems I mentioned in previous posts, I still love this thing to death. I hope this helps you in your decision and good luck.

  • thanks for the explanation man i mite buy one just for the hell of it..

  • 3. Tuners are extremely cheap, so the guitar can be a little challenge to tune and keep in tune at times.

    4. No floating trem, but they had to keep costs down so I guess that it's not that big of a gripe.

    5. Pickup selector is extremely notchy, and makes an audible sound when switching positions.

Here's what I'm planning to do to make this better.

    1. repaint = House of Kolor purple to green kameleon paint job.

    2. sperzel locking tuners

    3. Fender 3 way selector upgrade

  • 3. Ease of travel = I can take this anywhere with me and not worry about my other guitars getting damaged. It is also light-weight and won't strain your back during play.

    4. Looks = Mine is white, so it looks a little like a mix between a PGM and EVH BW stripe frankie.

Here's what I don't like about the guitar

    1. The qaulity of paint and the thickness. Mine already has some small chips on the upper and lower horn from GC abuse.

    2. Neck pocket and body are not the best fitment.

  • I've owned mine for about 3 months, so I'll give you a quick review and my own opinions. Here's what I like about the Ibanez Mikro guitar.

    1. Playability = From the neck smoothness to the easy to reach upper range frets this little guy smokes. I also like the string tension on these as they feel like rubberbands under my fingertips.

    2. Pickups = This surprised me because I always upgrade to higher-end DiMarzio's, but these are actually prety nice sounding pickups.

  • shud i get a mikro cuz its cheap and easy acces for all the frets cuz ive been playing on my af artcore ibanez which is unshreddable...??? and cons for this guitar( ive been playing for a year) plz reply

  • The paint job sucks ass as well as some other minor flaws with the guitar. Here's my opinion on one since I've had mine for the past two months.

    1. again, cheap paint job

    2. low quality tuners

    3. pickup selector is extremely notchy

    4. neck pocket is too large for the neck

I know that doesn't sound like a good review, but I really like this guitar a lot for some reason. The playability of this thing is incredible when it's in tune, and the pickups really sound good on my amp.

  • ibanez rocks

  • is this guitar really that small? I dont want to buy it if its gonna be tiny as hell

  • sorry double post

it doesnt look that small on this guy but people say this is really tiny

  • Yeah, its 3/4 size.

I think its for kids who want to start playing guitar :)

  • which one do you think is better?

a ibanez GRX guitar or a ibanez GRGM21?

  • oooo love the guitar!!

  • awesome!i have mikro too!the sound is great just like other ibanez

  • I am 17 and just getting back into playing guitar, and I traded in my Peavy Predator for the Ibanez Mikro and I am glad I did :)I can play Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Ozzy or whatever I want

  • Dude,

I'm getting into metal again after a ten year break. The stuff i like is in the vein of Mr. Vai. Trouble is with standard size guitars (boy! Have I owned a few) I find that with my very small girly hands (tho I'm a bloke of 5'7") I find certain technique difficult. Would the Mikro being smaller help. Cheers.

  • Indeed the fretboard is quite small and comfortable handling and you could appreciate that. Anyway, I think you can solve the problem with some specific exercises to increase the elastic ligaments of the hands , more than buying a smaller guitar...uhmmm...i guess Mr.Vai is however out of my reach!!! lol!!!

  • Hi bigmazza73, Many Thanks for your reply. I started playing the Guitar in 1980 (Punk, maiden that sort of thing) and stopped in 1998. I did a lot of finger exercises and stretching and that sort of thing. Sure, it helped, but never could compensate for the fact I have really, really small hands. I think Anthrax have the same problem and they too use smaller guitars. I had always found that some technique was beyond my reach - literally, because of the hands. Hence, my interest in the Mikro.

  • I decide to buy a Dean Vendetta XM.

I could not refuse the sale price.

  • That sir...is a pile of chit. Stay away from Dean. You'll have nothing but problems from the guitar. I had one...and returned it for another. I ended up with a real beginner guitar...the Ibanez RG2EX1....and then put way to much money into it. hahaha

  • Your comment is what is shit.

I am a beginner and no one believes it, that is how good the guitar sounds. Maybe it is your equipment that is faulty, that is common with men...

  • LOL. Funny stuff there emo girl. That is what you are right...emo girl? Do you cut yourself looking for attention or just post how good worthless Dean crap is. Run along now sweet little emo girl.

  • please please reply back to this question is the micro realy small and can it be for starters like me

  • This guitar is not so small as others...but,indeed, thats small enough. I guess it could be suitable to get involved in playing guitar and ,whereas the cheapest price, you can surely start your career buying a Mikro (may be further, you'd need more!!)

  • Excellent,

I was a little worried about buying a Mikro,

but it has a full sound. Is it lighter in weight?

  • Well...thats absolutely lighter in weight, even though not so small as other brands... But you can feel a different handling ,expecially from the fretboard, and need some days to get used to play it!

  • would you recomend it for a semi pro level guitarist cause its all i can afford anddo you think it compares to a les paul standard

  • I really dont know whether or not this guitar could be suitable for a semipro. But thats just my opinion. I guess that with a good amp... anyway, it's very cheap and has an excelent value for money. About comparing to LS...well, Gibson makes great guitars ;p

  • Sick shredding dude! Way better than I am! 5/5

  • lol "maybe"

  • Does that guitar stay in tune very well? I was considering buying one, but curious about tuning stability.

  • ea the tuning is great

  • It doesn't have a floating bridge, so you don't have to worry about tuning stability.

  • the problem is due to the fact that the tuning keys are cheap ;) so they dont afford a great stability.

  • Yeah, I heard that... I'm actually buying one in the next few months, so as soon as I get it in my hands I'll have them replaced :)

  • hwy what amp are you using and effects please

  • wow u rock

    i love your style man

    keep rock :-)

  • dude! very nice you rocked my sox off lol awesome soloing! ive been thinking about getting a mikro and this may have just convinced me, keep it up!
