  • @anakin808

15 miles is a lot for a beginner, i'm a bit scared with just 6 miles.

  • pause exactly at 0:15 he looks sleepy :)

  • I want a road bike.

  • what about if your underweight.. is that meant your not fit to cycle?..

  • @edpannewyork If you're underweight, make sure you eat well and drink a lot of water, and don't over exert yourself, but sure you can cycle, everyone should

  • @snipesnrifles

Thanks for the advice because i'm underweight (5'9''/140 )

  • @par0imia Actually, your BMI is 20.7 based on your height / weight. You're in a healthy weight category and an ideal one for cyclist that excels at climbing. Look at Alberto Contador, Marco Pantani..etc

  • @xsubmerged

Thanks for taking the time to search for that xsubmerged!

  • Dude, you need to get properly fitted on your bike. Get to a reputable bike shop.

  • I recently started cycling after almost 12 years not doing so~

One of the problem I had was after 45 minutes or so of riding my bicycle, my genital becomes numb...

    Any tips for this?

  • @CyberSetan Brooks saddle, Recumbents, castration or all three if you are really keen :-)

  • @CyberSetan Brooks saddle, Recumbents, castration or all three if you are really keen :-)

  • @CyberSetan -

cycling can help with overpopulation by reducing fertility

  • @walter0bz I need 1-2 children before that happens... after that... I dont care anymore.

  • I ride across the United States every weekend, just because I'm too lazy to run it.

  • I bike everyday now and I dont set a goal to how many miles I go, I go untill my body wont let me anymore. I always go atleast more than 60 miles.

  • a bike like the one frome 01:13 -left side...it costs in Denmark almost 1000 euro the second hand..

  • I control diabete in a very efficient way cycling 30 KM 3 times a week.

    It's my passion now )

  • is 30 miles a day good?

  • you didn't tell us how?!

  • He nearly forgot what came after Point A... :D

  • Investing in a bike to stay in shape after losing 48 pounds from p90x.

Not only staying in shape but not giving a dime to the big oil giants that raises gas prices for no reason.

  • Mix the riding do mountain biking with road riding and you will will rip on those climbs and ditch the guys who are trying to ditch you!!

  • If you're a really serious rider or racer, riding shouldn't tax your upper body noticeably. To maximize output at the pedals, effort must be concentrated in the lower body. This requires two things. An efficient technique and the ability to maintain a stable upper body. Strength training and dynamic yoga can help riders to improve the latter.

  • Your roads are fantastic, you don't really have to watch where your going just stay in a straight line. Our roads are SHIT, i have to map my way through all the pot holes :o( and i dont think my Aksium wheels are gonna last very long :o(

  • @optimumvalue9

lol i was about to say the same thing about my Aksium wheels too! I'd love some nice dry roads to cycle on that aren't covered in potholes hahah

  • And you can get a Giant Skid Mark. In the locker room, I have seen 9" poop smears, most riders just throw their underwear away and break out new ones.

  • Does anyone have any idea where they are riding?

  • @SpongeTutorials It looks like the hill country of Central Texas. Near the Austin/San Antonio/Kerrville area. The guy in the green/red jersey represents San Jose Cycling out of San Antonio, I think. The hill country of Texas has many miles of great bicycling roads as well as great views.

  • @SpongeTutorials by Travis Lake @Austin Texas

  • i want a nice road bike but the streets were i live are terrible

  • great video

  • You have never really cycled until your upper body is sore after a ride.

  • haha or puked or crashed!

  • @daddypants22 just had that today :)

  • @daddypants22 Ha I hate it when that happens!!!!

  • @daddypants22 that can happen?? I didn't know that.

  • @daddypants22 Not true if you ride a recumbent...

  • @gorodph Very true.

  • @daddypants22

Actually, upper body soreness after riding a bike is due to the fact that your core is weak, so you're swaying side to side while you pedal. This is common among people just starting out biking.

  • @christianmusicalways When you started cycling you had a great core and never used your arms to climb. Thats awesome for you. I've seen pros sway during tough climbs and I'm pretty sure they have strong cores. 2 years ago when I made this comment, I had been cycling for maybe 2 and I started from nothing so my core probably was weak. If your an avid cyclist and never had a sore upper body after cycling through the (catskills) hills for century rides. You should turn pro.

  • @daddypants22

Your first sentence doesn't even make sense.

Pros sway while climbing because they're standing - swaying while standing and sitting are two different things.

Your last sentence also doesn't make sense. All cyclists have had upper body soreness because all of us cyclists have started off cycling at some point in our lives. We had to start from scratch and work our way up from there.

No need to start arguments over well known facts about cycling.

  • @christianmusicalways I was talking about climbing and getting a sore upper body from standing and pulling with your arms. You don't think they get sore after a long ride? I'm sorry you didn't understand that I was meaning when your standing. Never really swayed too much when sitting.

  • Cylcing if your really into it, can use every part of your body, your abs, your shoulders your triceps, when your going up hill you have to give it all you have, and sometimes that means pulling on the handlebars, which btw uses your upperbody. To do any sport, you need to be fit in very part of your body. Look at Lance ins his prime, he was strong in all the areas of his body not just his legs, he had great upper body strength.

  • but it doesnt work the whole symmetry right? as in inner chest and stuff...coz your arms are mostly further apart and i feel it only works the outer in terms of upper body..

  • @daFranch1se69 your comment is true

  • @daFranch1se69 Not saying you're incorrect by any means, but I just want to clarify that most athletes of any type do much more than simply train in their element. Long hours at the gym everyday with trainers is what's required at a high performance level. Professional swimmers don't look the way they do because they swim everywhere!
