SRXT is short for Seroxat, an anti depressant, with an odd side effect of sometimes causing suicide... Yes, stupid, but they are complex drugs.

The song is thinking about suicide. Sorry to crush anyone who thinks it's about hope.

It's mainly about Kele being disaffected about being a gay male romantic in a fast paced world. I know, I have been there. It's still a stunning song, in a melancholic way.

SRXT Stands for Seroxat, an anti-depressant, and this song is about suicide.

It strikes an odd chord in me everytime I hear it, and makes me want to cry, yet I can't stop listening to it. I never heard a band quite like Bloc Party, and they better not ever stop doing what they are doing.

Perfect ending to the album, which in my opinion is a pretty much perfect album. It has the feel of being young, going out and getting wrecked with your friends at night in the summer, and this is when you are coming home at half 4 in the morning with the sun coming up and everything seems to be fine.

@Maleknia I used to think the same, but if you really try to let it 'grow on you', 2:32 is where the true excellence of the song begins. The drum build-up and climactic ending just sounds so powerful and proud. It's sad, yet hopeful, and that's why it's so good.

Bloc Party, in my opinion, only have around 3 or 4 genuinely bad songs in total, and those ones are all from their younger years... which would make sense.

@theTG They don't cause suicide. The antidepressant makes people motivated to do things with themselves.

Unfortunately a lot of people who are depressed the main thing that they have been thinking about is suicide.

Everyone put onto any medication like antidepressants needs to be very carefully monitored.
