One thing that really bugs me in this boss is that there is no health bar for the Egg Dragoon, when it comes to bosses where you can attack them in different ways there needs to be a health bar. This bastard can take so many hits in hard mode.
im gonna get alot of hate for this but.. keep the egg dragoon in sonic unleashed. fight him as the werehog. that was how it was meant to be played. make the boss dark gaia or something.
Hard more in Sonic Generations, how are the bosses more difficult? BTW, will a Mario Generations be made? I'd like to see Mario, Princess Peach, Daisy and their friends deal with a Time Eater!
@VectorOmega In the case of Egg Dragoon, there are fewer rings, you get fewer chances to hit Eggman, and his attack pattern is changed. It's a hell of alot harder. There's no one specific reason, but whereas the Normal mode is quite predicable, this one is much less so.
He also fires alot faster in the Pinch section. Which.. is just crazy. They really didn't have to do that. >.<
While I can't say much about the fight itself (can't play this game due to lack of systems able to run it efficiently), I have to say I like the boss's redesign. Guess SEGA figured too many people misread "Dragoon" as "Dragon" and ran with it.
I put off doing hard mode because this boss was so inconsistant. I remember I hit him during the falling section...and we suddenly teleported back in the first phase of the battle, racing along. Then I hit him again and the cutscene of him falling down the hole played and I was quite confused.
I HATE this boss! It's so cheap! I once had him use the drill attack on the ground, and as that was happening, it went to 2d. Being an attack that I can't jump over along with my lack of rings and quick step, you can guess the result. Overall, it just isn't as good as the original fight from Unleashed.
@ACESpark This fight really makes me wonder if SEGA put ANY thought into this boss, or if they came up with it at the last minute, cause all the other bosses are fine (despite some glitches for Chaos and the final boss being kinda annoying.)
didn't had any problem with this fight, although the game has few occasional glitches here and there (i literally had it frozing on me on the second Act of the Sonic Unleashed level, forgot this area's name), it was fun experience, especially after playing last Sonic game on PC i don't know, since Sonic Riders (yes i fully completed that one xD even though many hate it)
@OmegaCoolsterDX Don't get me wrong, I still think very highly of the game. It's just this boss fight decided to wantenly destroy my love for the game.
I actually had no issues with this boss like not being able to hit him randomly. Mind you I'm playing on the PS3, maybe the PC version has more glitches?
@gagaman I don't know. I haven't experienced many major glitches until this boss fight. If you saw the other video I posted - that's the sort of thing i've had to put up with.
As soon as this one happened - it just kind of all went downhill. It's very strange.
I don't know, I generally didn't like this fight that much.

Preferred the boss in Unleashed, hands down.

Does this mean your wrist is better, ACE? I hope so...plus, no damage, even from 3:22 to 3:44?! How much practice did THAT take?

Yeah, I had the derpy camera as well. :3

At least This fight shows the fact eggman actually got smart and decided to try and win instead of just failing.

@ArcticSnail Fun fact: There's no distinction between the words "Dragoon" and "Dragon" in French.

And another time, I somehow locked on and killed him immediately during the drop sequence. Glitches. GREAT STUFF

I like the frantic nature of the fight. It reflects just how desperate he was in Unleashed.
"Geez, Eggman, simmer down!"

What about the final boss? He seems like a bigger mess than the egg dragoon

@ShadeKetchum Yes. This sort of thing was one my major beefs with the fight. It's just so.. inconsistant.
You can do the exact same actions 5 times in a row and get different results every time. It's crazy.

I'm pretty sure that's its just the PC version being glitchy. Because I've never seen any of the problems that you had when recording this.
SuperSketch008 4 months ago
Too bad this boss was as glitchy as he was because it looked like it could have had a lot of potential.
UltimaShadow7 4 months ago
@UltimaShadow7 Yes. This boss needed more time in the oven.
And possibly being playtested by human beings might've helped.

@ACESpark Oh yeah, I'd agree it's probably the weakest boss in the game.

"What shall we do as a pinch mode?"
"I know! Let's utilize a previously unused gameplay mechanic and make it so you can't dodge the boss' attacks!"
"Brilliant!"
I really hated that pinch mode. So stupid.

Agreed but we still love him, cheating bastard or not.
