Dont think so. There are many of those little boxes in the ground. Seems to be some kind of tradiotin of SDKpeople of Valve. Remeber the shoe in the box under cs_assault? Or the little box under cs_esteat with the funny comercial? (i know that map is not from valve). And why sould someone fill a 3dbox with his or her mouth for a scene in the game? I guess the builder of the map just had fun and brought "himself" into the game 8) nice way i think.

This isn't an easter egg. Thats an AAATRIG texture used for things that are usually invisible (like triggers). If you open the map up in the editor you can see all kinds of entities in that room. I believe it was used to make teleporting monsters around better looking.

there are pics of devs in hl1. i am a hl1 modder and i know it from the valve hammer editor(a hl1 mapping tool) for example, you have made a door and you must tell the game where the originn of that door is. so you make a small box cowered with the "ORIGIN" texture and connect that box with the door. so you door turns around that origin. soo, that origin texture is actually a picture of a dev.
