Carley's 1970's recording of this song was easily the best of the bunch (McDonald, etc, etc.) ..... I saw Carley, along with her hubbie, 7 different times (in concert) between 1975 and 1977 (all up at the Universal Ampitheater in Hollywood). They use to see beer in milk (type) cartons and we'd buy ALOT of it during their concerts ........ she's been one of my favorites since ANTICIPATION came out in 1971.

What gave you the weird idea I was talking about anything else? Clapping ALONG is the only thing that made sense in your first statement. Thus it is what I was referring to as well. I have seen German audiences who behaved as if they had been visiting a classical concert. Some Asian people are like that, too, I guess it has to do with the feeling that clapping along may be inadequate and disturb the artists. And indeed some artists like clapping along while others want their quiet during songs.

Well, I live in a Latin country, people here clap to any music that has any kind of rhythm at all. It also depends on the mood.

Nor does it have much to do with what you think is good taste or not. It is just an expression of being alive and happy.

There are also a lot of artists who animate their audiences to clap along when they are being too passive.
