I used to listen to this band ocasionally but now after I heard this and look back at NIN's "Last" track I believe Godsmack is a bit fallen into pits;the riffs are pretty repetitive so for a band like this one a rippoff or cover is totally unapropriate;not to mention if it could have been a cover at least;instead they made themselves a cracked up image with this track;though I like most of Godsmack tunes.Definitely industrial metal riffs are completely off courseGodsmack is hard rock my opinion

ummm, jesus. nothing wrong with being influenced by a band, but when you steal the exact same riff & vocal pattern of NIN's "Last" how do you sleep at night knowing you didn't write anything original? I used to listen to this band ocasionally but now after I heard this and look back at NIN's "Last" track I believe Godsmack is a bit fallen into pits;the riffs are pretty repetitive so for a band like this one a rippoff or cover is totally unapropriate;not to mention if it could have been a cover at least;instead they made themselves a cracked up image with this track;though I like most of Godsmack tunes.Definitely industrial metal riffs are completely off courseGodsmack is hard rock my opinion

I will admit the riff sounds a lot like Last from NIN but so what? They're both good songs and when you think about it music is comprised of only seven major chords and a limited number of variations of those chords with a large, but still limited, number of combinations. Take into account that music has been around for oh I don't know...ever? It's going to be repeated. If you don't like the music, uh don't listen to it? Just a thought. :P

I am a die hard Godsmack fan and I believe all of their music, Reguardless of their inspiration comes from the heart. In my mind Godsmack is a legend, that dosen't mean they are but they are to me, and thats all that matters.

The people who don't here the strong similarity in the melody between the 6 year old NIN song "Last" should make a ear test.
But hey, it was since music exist like that and also today, NIN even encourages people to make own versions of their songs - recently visited the NIN website?
Both songs are good, and Godsmacks normal style is different. They made a song, sounds good, I like it and so be it.

I saw Godsmack at Rockfest one week ago today, and it's songs like these why I don't like them. As others have mentioned this is a copy of a NIN song. FWIW Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper stole the show even tho Godsmack was the headlining band.
