Thank you so much for posting this! I was privileged enough to have been at this gig, and it was easily the best I've ever been to. 'This is a Low' is my favourite ever song, so to see them perform it live, and in such an intimate setting, fulfilled a bit of an ambition of mine.
It's so great to be able to re-live that moment :)
Jonny and Graham haven't really done the same sort of stuff, therefore they are not compareable, even though the 'blur' and '13' work are "quite" close. Though Jonny has said that he is bound to like anything that involves Graham's guitar playing. One thing that is sure, is that Jonny is a multi-musician, he's great at playing alot of instruments. So as a musician, when it comes to skill, Jonny is better.
maybe in that sense, but coxon has made five albums where he performed all the songs/played instruments himself....in the technical guitar playing ablility sense, i have to say i think coxon outstrips greenwood - don't get me wrong, i love johnny's playing, but a lot of it comes down to his use of pedals and effects.
Coxon is probably the better guitarist, but a musician, wouldn't want to say that Coxon is the better one on that , as it probably wouldn't be true. Sure Coxon played the drums, bass, rythm and lead guitar and so on, on his solo records, but Jonny is really just "Wow!", as is Graham on the guitar. Though this is not a matter of taste.
Both Jonny and Graham are excellent on guitar and everything they play, they're like the engines of each bands. If there's something alike between Radiohead and Blur it's that they changed and developed their sound as the albums came out. Neither Radiohead nor Blur have two LPs that sound alike, Blur's self-titled's not the same as 13, and Ok Computer's nothing like Kid A.
Exactly. I do not think they can be compared, or that one is better than the other coz they're interested in pretty different kind of sounds maybe graham is slightly better talkin about pure technique but johnny is always seeking to weirdest sonunds. But they do respect each other as talented musicians. And they are both great live : johnny always seems to be on an other planet whereas graham has this ability to skip from bored as hell to a high jumping kangaroo... Anyway, they are both amazing
Blur are just gorgeous, I love this song... Blur as usual: Damon thoroughly enjoying himself and Graham being a genius and looking just slightly perplexed. Ah the good old days... ;)
Lov u Graham.
