  • Damn I miss Alternative Nation...

  • is she essentially talking to Jesus Christ

  • @rosdinWByemeR Some people think that she is. It depends on your take of the song.

  • Absolute sheer perfection ! Bravo Milla !

  • 10 DISLIKES?!?! well screw them.

  • This is flawless. Milla is perfect.

  • Milla Jovovich is the woman of my dreams. I absolutely ADORE HER!

  • I shot alot of the footage on this video.. I really liked the way it came out. Paul Archard directed it. We shot it a house next to the Majic Castle above Hollywood Blvd.

  • @hyperactivebrad No you didn't. I know this is the internet and all, but please refrain from lying about this.

  • @NOMNOMCarpet. No lying here. Shot super 8 and was paid for it.Paul used my camera to shoot as well and there was a Panavision 16mm used for all the clean stuff. I know this is the internet and all but please refrain from calling me a liar..if you want to see more of my work check out Dwight Yoakam's "what do you know about love"

  • Great video, it inspired this channel and the blog that goes with it! Maya Deren was a genius, and it's great to see people pay tribute even years after her death.

  • 0:52 YEARGH

  • She's referencing Maya Deren's meshes of the afternoon and the divine comedy, she's one brainy girl!

  • The video may seem weird, but it's based on Maya Deren's Meshes of the Afternoon, a short film comprised of many symbolic images, most notably the loaf of bread (symbolizing life) with the knife in it. The lyrics to this song are beautiful, and in fact, very poetic. The title of the album, The Divine Comedy alludes to that. If you don't understand the song, or think the video is weird, you are certainly entitled to your opinion tho you don't have a very broad intellectual scope.

  • I like the live version better :) but this is very good.

Milla is very very talented!!! :)

  • Someone wanted to be Tori Amos really, really bad.

  • @westy123 Nope.avi

  • the video is weird and it dosent sound like her but ohh well its is a awesome song :D

  • this is pure gold.

    xoxoxo

  • I'm 20 years old, I love Milla, when I bought ''The Divine Comedy'' I just fall in love with it.

This is my favorite song, brings me peace and so much love.

Thanks Milla, I'll alaways love you.

  • wow i forgot how important a song this was/is , for you retards , listen to this songs lyrics , then think about the name of the album , then the famous statute related to that literary work . then if you knew the real person its all about , wow , even creepier 15 years later ~

  • @EvilAlienVampireBlah it's supposed to be about Jesus.

  • @EvilAlienVampireBlah I have no idea what you are talking about. What statute? What literary work? What real person?

  • wow. audio is horrible.

  • Great video, too bad the audio's like an AM radio...

  • Simply wonderful!

  • the PIANO (ACOUSTIC) version of this song is AWSOME!

  • oh i remember this song. ah college

  • Wow, I didn't know she could sing. I actually quite like this.

  • This is soooo 90s! The video too...

  • This video fascinates me. It's simply entertaining to watch. And the song is phenomenal.

  • very Dali-film esque. surreal and dream scape time skipping

  • was there any point to that 1:15

  • i love this song it's my new favorite.

  • This video is based heavily on the short film Meshes in the Afternoon by Maya Deren.

  • Pure artistic genius.

  • The Divine Comedy is one of my favorite albums. It made me fall in love with Milla!

  • Oh my!!.. her eyes!!!.. are amazing!!!!!!...

  • I love Milla.

  • I first saw this video in '94 when it was featured on Beavis & Butthead haha Good times!

  • @JediGoddessChristy You can see her rump!

  • Is it me, or is Milla really into Art Nouveau?

  • Ah, "Alternative Nation", how I miss you. You made Friday nights something to look forward to; having that show be hosted by Kennedy was a plus. But then, that was when MTV was watchable.

  • she is perfect. and the clip reminds me some how of Un Chien Andalou ( Dali )

  • I may have said it before, but those Exorcist eyes are kind of freaking me out. That being said, I'd hit it...twice. If she'd let me. Which she wouldn't. Because I suck, and she hates me. Wait, she doesn't even know me. Well, if she did, she would say I suck, and she hates me. Damn, what a bitch! I like cake.

  • The video is fucking great! So reminds expressionism, stairs withs effects reminds The Calligari's cabinet...And also, the bedroom "Dracula" (first one obviously)...

And she's fucking beautiful, i mean, her eyes, her mouth, her pure and white body...

Don't really know what i think about the tune, should listen it more times...And it's 3:33 i dont even know why im here

  • She's gonna be in the new Conan movie in August

  • love love love and total appreciation

  • 6 dislikes? 6 people "don't know how to love you" Milla!

  • This song takes me back to a very fond memory 13 1/2 years ago. Thanks Andi.

But with the partial nudity, afraid to share it on Facebook, don't want to risk getting banned~lol.

  • @89Timex OMG I just did it without thinking about getting banned!!! D:

  • @cutehollygolightly I was close to posting it, didn't think about it till the last minute. Please let me know if anything happens as a result. I think you can delete/remove the post.

  • @89Timex nothing has happened so far. I´ll let you know if in a couple of weeks from now, anything happens :)

  • @cutehollygolightly I'm gonna have to post it myself now. Not too many people know about this song. If I'm not mistaken, there is a "clean" version. May post that. Wonderful song though.

  • @89Timex Hey! Sorry, I forgot I said I would tell you how it went. I posted this one... and guess what??? It´s still there!!! =D Cheers!!! =D

  • @cutehollygolightly Great!! Will have to post it myself there now~lol.

  • This is an amazing song, the video is so strange but beautiful at the same time, and what could i say about milla, she's simply georgeous!

  • For some reason, I thought this video would go well with Atlanta Rythym Section's "Imaginary Lover."

  • she is just so adorable.

  • This is a Kate Garner video.

  • so she models... acts...and sings. whatta perfect bitch

  • Wow 1) how have I never seen this and 2) what a wonderful take on Meshes of the Afternoon! Which was one of the very first experimental films created by a woman

  • milla jovovich <3

  • If you think about it the lyrics are realy pretty and so is she,,,,people tell me this song is pointless but its a great song,,,most 15 year olds like me dont appreciate music like this

  • nice!

  • It's sad that 99% of the people of my age find this song lame. I see it's beauty and yes I wish I was the one who wrote this lyrics, it's a PERFECT poem.

  • @Daniel42Monteiro how old r u anyway?

  • @emily30634 20 few months ago... 19 when i started with milla's music..why?

  • This song is apparently about (her) doubts in religion and the Jesus himself (the gentleman who fell). A perfect poem for a perfect song. The video is also unique/authentic, it's got it's own beauty. 10/10

  • @Daniel42Monteiro "Doubts in religion nand the Jesus himself"? I would love to get into a theological discussion. :)

  • One of the most beautiful women in the world and a brilliant songwriter. I really wish she would put out another cd. I love her voice.

  • Beautifulsssssssssss.

  • Strange video and I love it!

  • Strange video.

  • @JasonBrazen It's a tribute to Maya Deren's famous 1943 experimental short film, "Meshes of the Afternoon", and contains a few nods to Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali's "Un chien andalou" (1929) as well

I highly recommend both films... they're truly fascinating studies in surrealist cinema and dream logic, and were both hugely influential

  • Love the song and the video!

  • I absolutely LOVE her voice. :3 & I love the resident evil movies <3 She's just simply amazing. I just came across this today and just ordered her CD (;

  • Wasn't she like 17 or 18 when she did this?

  • @TheDaedalEVE yes and she's NUDE TOO!

  • @magnificator

Oh my... I just noticed that, lol.

  • @TheDaedalEVE

    I think she was 18-19, she's 35 now, so...

  • @CloudX100 Perfect she's as young as Shayna Lee

  • Some record company exec should be shackled for this not becoming a massive hit - left of center but so deserving.

  • Apparently I still want to cover this...

  • This was such a great song- why haven't we heard from her since then?

  • @nyc3299 Puscifer The Mission (M for MIlla mix)

  • @nyc3299 because her true promising profession is acting. she was a one hit wonder with music.

  • she really fucking likes being naked.

  • @spacethoven check out her movie .45 for more nudity by her

  • @spacethoven good for us.

  • @spacethoven dude, why are you complaining?

  • @spacethoven Especially on top of me

  • @spacethoven

And you're complaining about this because...? xD

  • @spacethoven I think that's excellent. She's good at it.

  • She not only can fight Zombies but can SING too!!!

  • @ThoughtTraveler lmao!!! :D

  • what is this instrument?

  • Remember when they used to sell cassette singles? I almost never bought them, but I bought this song.

  • Poor Milla got tagged with the pyramid and all see'ing eye at 0:09.then they got her again in 5th element as supreme being? come protect me.

  • This video is a obvious pastiche to the magnificent Maya Deren's short Meshes of the Afternoon.

  • @litteratrice Thank you! All through this video, I kept trying to remember the name of that film or the artist. Without you, it would have bothered me forever.

  • this vid was made back when music was art and had actual life meaning in the lyrics

  • She is very pretty but she don't have much rear at all. nothing to hold on to.

  • I really like this. Who directed the vid?

  • one of the most beautiful women in the world

  • Not that many people know about this in nz I have always loved this about milla,

  • Wow Great Song!!

  • Love It !!!!

  • I think we can agree on this - Almost nobody ever thought this lady would be as talented as she has eventually become, I'm so glad so many people saw her talent for what it is and she is today the great entertainer that she is, Imho.

  • i didn't know milla sang,wow!great song,great voice...

  • Gosh I am doing this song of hers as a cover in concert... love it!!!

  • what the hell is this video about?

  • I Love herr!!! i would love to meet her

  • Is there anything Milla can't do? She acts, models, kills zombies, and sings! Plus, she usually does it half naked, damn she's awesome!

  • nearly naked, and still classier then most of the broads today.

  • i love those mindblowin' blue eyes

  • bunuelian

  • This brings great memories back. I first saw her in dazed and confused then I found this album and the rest is history!!

  • Milla really is the perfect woman... she can act, she can sing, she's hot as the fires of hell... i'd marry her just to change her last name... :) thumbs up if you agree

  • How the fuck could anyone not like this video? One the sickest music videos I have ever seen.

  • For the people who like this video you should really check Maya Deren's short films "Meshes of the Afternoon" and "At Land" (more the first than the second) from witch this video is inspired :)

  • shes kinda werid in this song hats what makes it soo cool

  • new fav song.

  • Milla kicks but on screen and in her music haha im a fan ^__^

  • This album is great!!

  • How can one person soak up so much beauty and talent?! I adore Milla!!!

  • Doesn't it kind of remind you of that creepy videotape in The Ring?

  • Elle a tant de capacité. Elle est toujours ailleurs par rapport a ce qui a déjà été fait. Milla reste la personne "connue" que j'apprécie le plus. surtout que dans ses années, Elle semble tellement sincère...

  • i love crazy girls

    nuff said XD

  • god she's weird.

  • @vegiemusiclove: resident evil

  • I was so into this album back in the day! it was good.

  • I like that she decided to go her own route, instead of the the bubble gum pop bit most actors turn to musicians go to.

  • This video is action packed!

  • love her

  • I LOVE HER

  • AWSOME.I LOVE HER.

  • I actually like this. I think she has such depth in whatever she does. She's her own person.

  • Milla is great

  • I remember Beavis & Butt-Head gawking at her talking about how she's naked in the video and getting all excited about it

  • supreme being

  • Look at her damned eyes...this is like the exorcist or something.

  • Damn...what CAN'T this girl do?? Impressive!

  • i also saw her at the 9;30 club washington dc and ended up spending an hour with her downstairs after the show, she got high on stage and fell back on the drum kit and everyone was getting her high downstairs , shes really a kool girl

  • they cut the butt scene !

  • it has a nice music and relaxing

  • The first time I saw this was on Beavis and Butt-Head. I didn't connect the dots on who she was though. I shouldve known since she is always naked or at least topless and beaten up. I canteven picture her wearing clothes. Great vid and song though.

  • I hadn't thought of her in years, though, I played this song while I DJ'd. Just watched

the 5th Element and, VOILA!!!!! fantastic. And not only Milla, also discovered Lee Evans,

one of the funniest people EVER!

  • i love this song and her

  • She looks wondefully possessed. I love her!

  • Nice back! :)

    Great video!

  • yeah yeah, u wont believe me, but i love her sight...god, she is so lovely!

  • the music of the 90"s ruled. i wish i had appreciated it more back then.

  • Com to Butt-Head

  • I saw her on the tour for this album, paid $5 to see her in a coffee house. Best 5 bucks I ever spent!

  • lucky bastard

  • @Spinkerts haha you're awesome! :D

  • @Spinkerts very cool

  • @Spinkerts I think that this kind of music is ideal for a coffe house my friend :)

  • @Spinkerts i saw her on this tour too, the 9;30 club washington dc. she got high on stage and fell back into the drum kitt. i was lucky enough to hang with her downstairs backstage for an hour, shes a really kool girl.

  • @Spinkerts your a very lucky guy this is something we'll never see Milla do again
