  • "Cleared to close it!"

  • ATC reminds me of John Madden

  • i like how he gave him the go to do so without actually saying it directly, and how the pilot replied... both covering themselves legally xD

  • ;-) Na ja, schlechtes Beispiel. Dann solltest Du natürlich Deutsch sprechen. Lg

  • the other stuff is just as funny as the 'fuel panel problem':)

  • How do they understand this fucker? If I wasn't reading it I would like wtf did he just say!?!?!

  • @kokalti years of exp

  • fuckin geekster

  • That controller was a smart ass, I like him :)

  • wilco?

  • @rudy032190 Will comply

  • "Cleared to close it"

  • priceless :P I hope that one day when I'm a pilot, that I'll fly into JFK :D

  • 3:57 clear to close it

  • Loved to have seen the Video :p

  • dePAHture

  • hahahahahahahahahaha this is fucking hilarioussssss

  • JFK ATC, you can just tell their CPU runs at a higher clock speed than us mere mortals. Thumbs up.

  • Cleared to close it LMFAO!

  • Tower was shocked that a pilot was actually willing to do this himself. That's certainly against the union contract in the U.S. We should take a lesson from the Germans on this one.

  • jeeze civilian ATCs are so casual. They still do a great job though.

  • I love JetBlue 153 saying "loofthansa" :D

  • "What ever you need to do you can do". Haha I want these clearence, when I'm flying my airplane :D

  • hahaha Looofthansa :D and nice german accent sounds like our politicans ^^

  • Loooofthansa :D

  • Weee have a little Phrofflimm :D :D

  • Haha epic

  • my question how is the pilot going to get out and back in the A340 w/o stairs or a bridge? just asking i am that is part of what the atc is laughing at

  • @4thsubaru i don't know maybe he jumped out of the aircraft and jumped in :D

    but it's a good question

  • @4thsubaru There is an access door thru the avionics area below first class, it leads all the way out side of the aircraft just behind the nose gear. its quite small so the person climbing thru it needs to be careful.

  • @stevekr21 Yeah! Executive Decision was a nice movie...

  • @stevekr21 thank you sir for the answer. :^)

  • @4thsubaru I do believe there is a way down through the flight deck into the hold and then out via the nose gear, just a guess but its a similar system to that on other aircraft :)

  • @4thsubaru Some airliners have a small retractable airstair hidden (unlike those of corporate aircraft) directly underneath the first door; it hardly ever used due to the availability of ground stairways, followed by terminal gateways. an A 340 might have one of those installed.

  • @4thsubaru There is a trap door in the cockpit that allows one to exit through the open nose gear door.

  • @Mcoov true ! stupid ppl here cauz this german pilot does it right !

  • @4thsubaru and the response is simple... many aircrafts have airstairs, which you can deploy from it... used only in special cases..., you think engineers did not think about that ?

  • @Bugy34 bullshi...

  • @Pa1895 you should review your atpl course or else.... I'm pilot and I can guarantee you that many a/c have airstair....aare you so retarded to think that an airline pilot would have been a mistake to ask it to atc then ? come on!

  • Comment removed

  • @4thsubaru Pretty sure there's an access door through the wheel well.

  • @4thsubaru there is a extendable Stair in front of the nose gear. Witch is a direct access to the avionic compartment. And of course there is a direct access from the cockpit to the avionic compartment

  • I love the way you spelled Looofthansa LOL

  • Where's the joke? An open door in flight sounds terrible. And this controller is always funny. :)

  • Comment removed

  • how is he meant to get out

  • horny

  • Haha, how exactly was he planning on getting out to close it? Lol...

  • Loooooftansa

  • Best Job in the World!

  • that's how aircraft/controller radio talk should sound. the pilot's were professional, quick and respectful and the controller was doing a bad-ass job especially with that fuel door situation and the plane not being able to stay in position & hold.. You guys that fly into JFK and the tower controllers that work there, all of you have my respect.

  • this is an amazing ATController (:

  • LOL SO FUN :D

  • haha i am so ashamed of that german english.. he is a fucking lufthansa A340 pilot, he must be able to speak english much more fluently and with a better accent :D but apparently you dont have to be the best english speaking guy to fly for LH

  • @AxCYeR well actually you have to go through a couple of tests to become a LH pilot including one english test. but they test only your grammar and vocabulary knowledge. the pronunciation isn't importent at all. I've been through that test and I can assure you it's pretty hard. Butt still you're right when you say that you don't have to be the best english SPEAKING guy. you just have to understand what's said and express yourself in a way that you can be understood, with or without accent :D

  • @AxCYeR his english is very clear, understandable, articulate, and I think that's what matters the most.

  • This guy from the ATC solved 5 situations in 4 minutes...that is more than i solve in a day...and I have only my life involved...DROP OF A HAT...

  • @dangerouswater wile cracking 3 jokes :)

  • One fuckin stupid atc.

  • that lufthansa made a major delay there

  • I love how the ATC is laughing at the end and barely said the code sign right.

  • jeez the jfk tower guy was a dick

  • sprecht ihr es mal deutsch, bevor ihr euch lustig macht.....penner

  • uhm... i am... uhh cleared to uh... close it LMFAO

  • jajaja i can imagine the pilot going out of the plane and closeing the door by himself XD

  • Looofthansa ...

  • the fuck is he laughing at? at least the guy knows his business and is able to repair it.

Other idiots wouldn know what to do or search ppl who solve it!

  • @owner0007 True. One silly atc. This pilot knows his plane. If they can't close it he can.

  • @kakompo agreed

  • that end was EPIC!

  • German pilots are hardcore no pussying around getting help from ground crew. He did it himself ^^

  • This just put a smile on my face! But I'm not laughing at the Lufthansa driver. I think his solution was perfectly practical! He saved an unnecessary, time- & fuel-consuming taxi back to the gate. And I'm only guessing here, but I'll bet he just used the emergency rope egress from the flight deck. Passengers wouldn't see him climbing out & get nervous, though they might have seen him shut the fuel door. And what would passengers on nearby planes think to see a pilot crawling out of his plane? ;)

  • @dcs002 Another thought: Does the A-340 have flight deck access to the baggage compartment? If so, there must be a hatch in the baggage compartment used by ground crews. I don't know why, but I think this is such a cool friggin story!

  • @dcs002 Below the cockpit, you can access an electric departement and from there you can get outside through the nose gear's bay. You risk some stains on your uniform but its kinda possible. Engine 3 might get turned off for this, tho. Hats off anyway how the crew handled this incident without creating a huge delay by going back to the gate and let it check by the ground crew. And hats off too to the JFK controller staff. They're always worth some clicks. Keep it up guys !

  • @stfn1986 Thanks for the explanation. And yeah I'm with you, hats off to the controller who recognized the unconventional, kinda funny, yet practical solution! Problem solved, and everyone's got a great story! (Guess the pilot wanted to get back to Germany more than he wanted a clean shirt!)

And much respect for all you aircrews! Guys like Capt Haynes & Capt Sully did amazing and heroic work, but I also know most of you could do the same if placed in the same situation. Hope you never have to!

  • Great job on video!

  • Cleared to close it!

  • how can the pilot go out of the aircraft in the middle of the taxi field, without any gangway? guess an A340 is pretty high

  • the busiest and the most funny airport in the world kkkk

  • Comment removed

  • Was the fueling hose hanging out too?

  • Looofthanza lol

  • @omarbadr36

    yeah that's the right pronounce

  • Big *lol* at 3:51 min ...

    "Uhhhhhh...I´don´t ...Ahaa !!!" XD

    But Problem effective Solved...

  • i think the pilot to close it via toilet level

Luft' A346 toilet is at lower level

  • Uh, cleared to close it XD

  • yeah hilarious gringo controller vs tight ass hun pilot.... lol

  • Controller has a sense of humor—bravo!

  • on a A340-300 there is a passing behind the pilot's seat, going to a "mechanical room" where some manual commands are done.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA

that was a funny break during the day

  • hahah this is hillarious. "cleared to close it" hahah classic

  • how will he get down from the plane without a ladder vehicle?

  • de-paaaar-cha

     :-D

  • So how the hell would the pilot be able to close the fuel panel on a 340? At least 30ft from the R1 door to the ground...

  • @phobal

He "may" have access to it from the access door to the front gear inside the cockpit.

  • Cleared to close it. Yeah, that's what he said!

  • I LOVE you're subtitles!!!! LOL!

  • hahaha .. funny sh.t .. awesome recording ! .. So did the plane alerted

the pilots of an open door?? how they noticed originally ?? anyone

  • @luiskurt206

    A light.

    All exterior openings have indicators.

  • i love this video! :D reminds me of my colleagues

  • Lufthansa this is Klink and Schultz waiting for pilots openings.

  • in jfk atc have a lot of traffics..they r cool...

  • sollte einer von euch deutsch sprechen, dann möchte ich gerne mal den akzent hören.

ich würde mich dann auch köstlich amüsieren.

  • Comment removed

  • This guy rules xD

  • "and ... uh.. cleared... uh .. to close it" :)

great combination: german pilot chatting in english + damn cool JFK ATC......

  • 3:44 hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • this is Sascha Unterbarnscheidt

  • i don't get what is so funny here ?

something's open and thepilot asked the permision to close it and permission given. where is the hilarious thing ??

  • @giandrago - It's funny because the Lufthansa is in the line of planes waiting to take off. He's right next to the runway (or near it) and the captain is gonna get out of the plane and close a fuel door. That never happens with big jets at JFK airport.

  • good ATC

  • Are only NYC controlers rude or do is it also heard in other parts of the country?

  • @IamtheBurceDickenson

Rude? Have you SEEN what JFK controllers handle all day everyday?

  • WILCO - Will Comply

  • HAHAHAHAHA

  • Gois thinking

  • Lufthansa .. maybe he translated poorly. He means outside the pressurised compartments only. Why would he have to leave the plane to close the door ? Its on the fuselage. He will just open up the floor and descend into the cargo bay, lift another floor panel and access the refueling lines ,valves , and so on, and the door mechanism .. Electric motor has burnt out - so Wind on a handle attached that winds it up, lock it closed. Fly now, repair during turnaround time not flight itme.

  • du-pahh-churr XD

  • Lol @ ATC laugh at the end. XD

  • Well this is a smart pilot!saving the company and the passengers Fuel and Dealy time!imagine if he taxied back to have maintanance take care of it!back of the line and delay time!

  • he said 'I don't care' not 'I don't t'HA

  • @fawii Um no. He laughs mid sentence.

  • What was the last sentence? Something like 'don't get shot' ?

  • Uuuuhhhh. I don't... t'HA... AhHA! - ROFL!

  • Aww remember, Position and Hold?

  • wtf...lame lufthansa pilot

  • @brgimscht Care to expound?

  • yes!!!

  • lol kennedy tower is awesome

  • NWA FOREVER!!!!!!!

  • hahaha " ehhh cleared t'uh...to close it..."

    so funny!

  • ah ze vvvacky germans are up zo zer old treeks again. he zoes not need a ladder, he can zimply climb out of his cockpit window, up onto his plane and onto ze vvving!! From zer he can use his spider string to close ze door and all vvvill be zolved.

    Haha. Only the germans eh??

  • @connellrocraymond

yep ze germans are always good at ze improvizing part in solving ze problem ;)

  • Reminds me of the one joke... an cop is clocking cars and all of a sudden his radar gun reads 999.99 and won't change back. The police later got a message from the RAF which explains it something along the lines of this-"We have received word from one of our pilots that his plane's automatic systems jammed an 'enemy radar station' on the ground and was prepping to auto-lock/ fire ATS missiles, but the pilot recognized the situation and stopped it manually. Good Day"

  • wilco means i understood, and i will do what the tower said

  • wtf !!!! funny story !!!! regards all people from Merida Yucatan Mexico MMMD

  • how can he get out the plane?

  • hahahahah and ugh uh cleared to closed it hahahaha

  • Wow I hope he realizes he needs a ladder to step out of the airplane.

  • resourceful german pilot ))

  • how does the pilot to get out of the a340, he jumps off?

  • how is he going to get out of the plane lol the emrgency slide?

  • If its behind the wing then watch out buddy! The engine blast can blow you away. I wonder whether they shutdown the engines or not...

  • Ask Looofthansa lol

  • But is not supposed to be a dude to make that work? Why the pilot had to do that??

  • I can't believe how much the controller enjoys his job! amazing...

  • Little problem ?????????????

    LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Unconventional... but, hey, someone´s got to close that hatch, no?

    :)

  • this controller at kennedy is always hilarious and what does wilco mean

  • @tomcat8492 Wilco = Will Comply

  • @numb3rmonkey08 Wilco, shows you have heard and will comply, but basically what you said

  • @tomcat8492 Ever heard of Boston John? He's tower controller at Boston and he's also awesome! :D

  • aahhh.. at FL350 "Aahhh, i think i left my sunglasses on the bonet... pull over i'm gonna get them off"

  • controller sounds like he enjoys his job.

  • @3IDLukeK This guy is one of the best at JFK... lots of audio tapes floating around on youtube of him
