  • we have one of those. they do work good but not in deep snow. i have one and my dad has the monster

  • used to have one of these. had some very bad governor problems and then started leaking gas out of the carb. i haven't bought a MTD since.

  • nice i just found one of these a guy threw it out it was buried in snow brought it home started second pull

  • so did mine, it was over 12 years old, until it just started litterly falling apart

  • i use to have the exact same one, piece of junk, now i have a 2 satge ariens

  • The MTD lasted over 10 years, but I replaced it at the end of last snow season with a Simplicity 520. The Simplicity is so much better, I should have thrown out my MTD years ago.

  • My carb on my 99 just shitted out on me. Cleaning it tonite and lets hope it starts

  • yeah same here we just got a Ariens 5520 we previously had that one it was a 4.5hp and it was just falling apart beyond belief we just got sick of fixing it and the sad thing was, ours was not even 10yrs old and was coming apart

  • Ya, I know, they're not really made for heavy snow and all that

  • yeah on top of that they don't last very long either u take it to wet snow it's just to hard for the little thing but it's an okay unit if you live in an area that doesn't get alot of snow but here in the state of Michigan that thing just doesn't make the cut

  • Ya. I'm in Ontario Canada, and it's a blizzard here as we speak

  • yep, same here
