  • This is good information. But yea the medium grip is probably the best grip. for beginners or advance level.

  • Hi Paul, I need to ask you about something REALLY important.

I train Muay Thai, and when I do kicks such as the Muay Thai round kick, a sidekick, or a tornado kick (taekwondo), I have this sharp short pain in my hip (on the side).

The pain only lasts during the kick, after im done the kick it mostly goes away. However, when i attempted a tornado kick, i felt most pain and I couldnt finish and i collapsed on the floor.

What is wrong??? it is flexibility? By the way, if it helps, Im only 16 YO

  • Would like to see PZ and the BeastSkills guy get together tutorializing on moves like this. Both explain a lot of interesting things about moves.

  • So that swing movement is like a kip, but is less about the movement and more about using your muscles to get up in that position on the bar.

  • I enjoy watching your muscle up videos Paul.

I never do muscle ups but after first vid i decided to analize the exercise and try to train in this direction just a bit. I have no big problems with pulling up (with medium grip), but the pushing part is where the problem starts. Sometimes i have to bend a little and put my chest ON the bar to get some pressure off the elbows. Whats your opinin on that? should i stop doing that or should i train like this till i get stronger?

  • @alshares I dont agree, he explains techniques very clearly. And why are you watching this if you think its boring?
