@saw386 We talk about it a good deal.. Right now, Allie has health issues that we're all dealing with and the idea of a new puppy is just not good timing...maybe sometime down the road a bit. I hope so. -- Veri
Finished Dog is a great read and broken down to small concepts that is easy for not only the dog to learn but also the trainer.
Anyway, not trying to be a marketer, just relating info. I have a 4 year old male yellow lab and he has really come into his own this year with maturity. Looking forward to getting him into the field as fall and winter approach....thank goodness that this hot, sultry Southern summer is almost over!
Good to see she is getting around pretty well. Really hope she doesn't lose the other ACL.
My good friend Charlie Jurney was hired by the Richard Wolters estate to do videos based on Richard's books. He did both Game Dog and Water Dog back in the early 1990's if memory serves. He has since written his own book that he adapted over the years starting with Richards techniques but with adaptations of additional years of experience. The book is Finished Dog.
Oh wow i only just found out about Allie!! so glad that she is getting better, give here a big rub behind the ear from me =], pls keep us updated on wonderdog, best wishes and take care
Great video. I'm glad to see she is doing better. If I ask my dog (he's on my channel) "What's that?" He goes straight to the front window and looks out. I like knowing my wife can tell him that she is alone. No one is coming in my house uninvited with Tater standing at the window ready to "greet" them.
HEY VERY im a long time tnp subsciber. but i have a knife design i think nutn would really dig. and i need some one to make a prototype.. wdoes he know any one who could.. thx
So sweet to Alley running and playing. it has been s long road up to this point for her and the family. Also the viewers wanting to know how she is doing. I hope she will be as close to 100% when totally recovered. Nutnfancy has done an excellent job in training her and showing the family how to work with her. Hope all continues to go great for alley. Hope to see her hiking in the mountains again soon.
TY Veri for uploading Allies vid, she looks great and shiny too. Sadly my labrador passed away recently of old age, She was 13 years old and the smartest and sweetest dog i ever owned, truly a man's/womans best friend.
You are going to take Allie hiking? Please, Please, Please no pack for that poor dog. She looks like she is a LONG way from carrying additional weight.
Hey NUTN, that is great to see that Allie the TNP mascot is doing good! I think I can speak for all TNPr's that it brings joy to our hearts to see the girl running around and having fun! Take care brother, and Allie too! ;)
Had to watch that twice. I missed her so much. Is that wierd?! She's such a sweety! hope she gets to full recovery soon. My bird dog "Mutly" was shot in the left rear knee and was never quite the same afterwards. He would pull up most of the time and was gun shy, but was no less loved by me or the family. He is long gone to Doggy heaven, and I still miss him.
Thanks for this update Veri and Nutnfancy! Been wondering for a long time. Glad to see she is recovering and is happy:) I almost missed this, (since it's uploaded on Veri's channel) so a big thanks to Brownnz92TNPfan for the heads up! Take care!
Allie, where is your 550 cord collar!? I made a matching bracelet and collar for me and my pooch way back when Nutn first started talking about Wrist Armor, and it hasn't left him or me since. Think of how much cordage you can have on a dog that size. My dog is a Cardigan Corgi, and it took a lot of cord to make his!
Corgis are surprisingly capable mountain dogs, also. But anyone who knows Corgis, knows they are huge dogs in little bodies. He can wear me out on a hike.
That is so great to see she's doing so well Nutn. Thanks for the update bro! I'll make sure to let my son watch this as he really loves watching vids with her in it.
Definitely a special relationship between Allie and your family. Very moving video when you picked her up at the vet and not afraid to say I shed a few tears seeing her reaction and you / your wife's. I remember how we felt getting our girl back after surgery. As you stated, they assimilate into your pack / family and become an integral part of our lives. Dogs are amazing and love unconditionally...something we humans could stand to learn from . Thanks for your military service and vids.
Well I know nothing about dogs but that seems like pretty decent recovery for two months past. I know the last update it didn't sound like you were very happy with how she was progressing but I thought give it a bit more and now she seems quite well. Hopefully the good progress continues!
Eats everything you give them and everything they can scavenge. and still looks at you like they are hungry. My lab got to 105. It was embarrassing to go to the vet. put him on science diet weight control decreased the amount I fed him got him a lot of exercise. Got him to 70+ pounds. On top of that his teeth cleaned up too.
Thank you so much for the fresh news! We're missing you, be well and hope the journey continue whit your pace, right in front of everyone. ; ) Such a nice and good dog, Take care guys!
Ahhh man, good to see her running around again!! I love how she barks out of excitement when you let her retrieve the toy, so cute! Every time she appears in a vid she seems so happy and well mannered, 'tis a testiment to your training and family.

sweet... I asked for a TMD update a vid or so ago.. and here it is... @Hhound as as another not... when my cocker was goin for his AKC Grand Champion points for both show and feild.. in the field they put 2 birds in release blinds for him to flush out... he ignored them and started signalling and barking at a tree.. the shooters/judges were "jeez this is a fail".. a shotgun blast from another test went off and 10 birds flew outta the tree he was signalling to... the "WTF?" look he dog gave to the shotgunners was priceless. he flushed 10 birds and they didnt shoot
Very happy to see that she's doing so well. I'm sure that 6 months out her body will have adjusted for the weakness in her ACL and she'll be back pretty close to her 100% before the surgery.
"The foundation of training is consistency of training, when you give a command you have to enforce that command. It's not subject to interpretation" hmmm, sound sorta like the constitution. :P
Almost lost my dog two weeks ago due to an allergic reaction to medication she was receiving for a bronchial infection. The resulting toxin started eating away at her muscles and nerve synapses. She is on her way to a full recovery thanks to her strength and conditioning. Have incorporated a lot of your dog philosophy into her regimen, Nutn, including mountain trips and jobs. Glad to see Allie TMD up and running! Hoo Yah, Dogness!
Glad Allie is doing well! Hope to see her back out in her red booties soon. Not too soon though make sure she's up to it. Take care guys, Tabi the hunting dog says woof woof bark I don't know what it means but I'm sure Allie will understand ;)
Hooray for Allie....she's become a family favorite with our kids and were sending lots of positive thoughts for her FULL recovery. Looking forward to seeing her in a new adventure....maybe this year?!! Best Wishes
Very cool, Nutn. She looks pretty normal, glad to see her doing better.
Also, thank you for training her! Soooo many people get dogs and just let them get fat or let them bark at everything that moves. It's so nice to see a well trained dog.
She's lookin' awesome... I have an ACL reconstruction coming up myself (my second).. I can't imagine what it's like for a dog to go through that. At least as a human you understand what's going on and why you are in pain.
Glad to see Allie is doing better, I would love to see some more training videos. I just got a chocolate lab female 2 days ago, she is 9 weeks old. She is already fetching and sitting on command which I think isn't bad for her age. I will definitely be checking out the book you recommend.
@Verilioness
Try to convinced Nutn to do a dog training video bit of an odd request but if he made one true TNP'ers would support by watching! =)

She's lookin' awesome... I have an ACL reconstruction coming up myself (my second).. I can't imagine what it's like for a dog to go through that. At least as a human you understand what's going on and why you are in pain.

I love the way she barks the second you tell her to go. It's like she's saying, "Charge!"

Glad she's doing better. Not sure I'd worry too much about the way she's sitting. I see that a lot in the bigger breeds.

LOL,..."They'll eat everything you give them",...much like her human counterparts. ;-))

Glad to see Allie is doing better, I would love to see some more training videos. I just got a chocolate lab female 2 days ago, she is 9 weeks old. She is already fetching and sitting on command which I think isn't bad for her age. I will definitely be checking out the book you recommend.
