Never thought to look for you on youtube (if it is you). Amateur admirer here. You have helped me more than you will ever know, Mr. Staments. Thank you for all you do.
Bought your book. Great Job. I was telling my friend Ben who runs a ranch about the run off (cattle dung) idea in your book, and he said your son alredy offered offered to help him with it. Small world, connected by 7 degrees at least, just as the mycelium is.
is this the only mushroom that smells like maple syrup? I have only found one on the coast growing out of a slide. There was only one so I just sniffed it to ID it.
I am so jealous !! I live in Michigan and as far as I know they don't grow here. Sure wish they did cause I'd love to try them someday. Great video !!

How close are you to the road Paul? I was curious if it is safe collecting edible fungi near the road, ya know heavy metals and other nasty runoff.

@Mu51ch3r3 You can see the road at 0:40. I'd say between 30 and 50 metres. If you're American that won't help you much.

The best video you have posted, thus far. It truly captures the joy of mushrooming.

Wow!, I'm so envious.
Living on the other side of the globe, and never having been to the USA I've never had the opportunity to try them.
This species has always seemed so intriguing to me
...a non savoury flavour from a mushroom
thanks.
