I see sexual attraction in a somewhat linear fashion. There is a broad spectrum of sexuality. 100% gay is at one end of the continuum and 100% straight is at the other. Between these two are many points of "interest". Most people fall somewhere in the middle. It is very possible to be hetero or homo and be attracted to the same or opposite sex. It is a matter of degrees.

Furthermore, the petition has had no OFFICIAL confirmation from HO that it has either worked or not worked. Those are the facts.

You know you're not being fair in that assesment of Kieron. You know we only see a very small portion of his day to day work life. We all take breaks from work-if nothing more than to have lunch.
Father Kieron is safe, for now. In an interview with producers they assure JP/Kieron will run till the fall. Then JP will have to choose between his future and his past, their words. You know what that means.

Someone who is truly straight, cannot, by definition, fall in love with a gay person, because that would require them NOT to be truly straight.
I mean I'm amazed that it needed spelling out! It's not opinion, it's critical thinking and really simple logic. If someone falls for someone of the same sex, then they are at least bisexual to some extent.

I see sexual attraction in a somewhat linear fashion. There is a broad spectrum of sexuality. 100% gay is at one end of the continuum and 100% straight is at the other. Between these two are many points of "interest". Most people fall somewhere in the middle. It is very possible to be hetero or homo and be attracted to the same or opposite sex. It is a matter of degrees.

Based on an average episode of HO, which receives over 2 millions viewers, that would say that 0.05% of the viewing audience changed the outcome of Kieron's fate. Again, 0.05%. Furthermore, the petition has had no OFFICIAL confirmation from HO that it has either worked or not worked. Those are the facts.

Craig did NOT completely change his life for JP. If that were the case, he wouldn't have told his brother what he did, which JP overheard, and caused the breakup. He still wavered - saying once he was Gay to his family, then saying he wasn't but simply loved JP, who happened to be a man. Some people, regardless of orientation, become aroused at things unrelated to their preferred sex: the idea of sexual activity at all, regardless of the sex of participants; nakedness, simply by association to sex, even if they are alone - et cetera. You're missing the point. Why argue about whether or not it is "possible" for somebody to feel something that they say they are feeling? The character of Craig says he is heterosexual: feels physical and emotional attraction to females and not to males. He then says that despite his previous tendency to always be attracted to the opposite sex, he has fallen in love, emotionally and physically, with somebody of the same sex, but that this is the exception rather than the rule.

It is possible to be, in all other respects, heterosexual; never find yourself attracted (either physically or emotionally) to somebody of the same sex, never even consider it, and then simply happen to find yourself in love or lust with somebody of the same sex. It throws people, but it happens. Whether they choose to still consider themselves heterosexual after that is their own choice, and they have to base it on whether they still consider themselves likely to be attracted to the same sex.

Under 30. I think. Actually, I don't know. But it said earlier on in the series that he'd taken part in a fasahion show for under 30s priests for the Women's Institute. I always thought he was like 24-28ish.

The Save Father Kieron petition has been mentioned on an UK- TV show yesterday morning and they said that the character will not be killed.
But I don't believe that the petition is the real reason, but it was nice that it was mentioned..

Why are people so cynical about the petition having some part in saving Kieron? One person can affect great change-it all depends on who is listening.

sorry, but who is cynical? I'm really happy about the petition, I have even signed it. But I do not believe that BK or Lime Prod. had changed their mind because of the petition. But it was great that it was mentioned on the TV-show. THANKS CLAIRE!!!

crado: I never said the petition was the sole reason for the change in venue- only that it could have been one of many factors taken into account. In America we have a saying; "Nothing ventured nothing gained." I do believe you underestimate the power of the little people.
