Ebullience is only a 20% damage boost, which doesn't trump spending only 1/2 MP of the spell. That's where SCH wins out over BLM; It can drop far, far more nukes over time for a little less damage but in doing so causing much more damage than a BLM.

Helixes aren't rare, I don't think I've ever bothered recording any myself, as it's just a DoT spell so not that impressive. It does have a decent enough animation.

You think? I think it's more for people who want the best of both worlds. It's a difficult job to play, and not many know how to play it well, so like you said the job is rare. But I believe that SCH can be one of the biggest assets to a party if used well.

SCH is the perfect job for me,on WHM I always got Mp problems,RDM is too weak in all magic arts for me and BLM has a too long cast.
here comes SCH with 80% of WHM & BLM. Can buff the whole pt,power up his spells,half the Mp costs,half the re/casting time,has Tier IV Black Spells and re/raise II + his own MACC boosting spells which are also helpfully in manaburns - which is why I get invited there hehe

No, Scholar's Ebullience does in fact increase the DMG ratio dependant of the user and weather around. It doesn't increase the elemental skill but the potency, which lowers resist rates but also the overall DMG output.
I think the main thing to point out about why the nukes are so close in damage is ebullance(sp?). It gives a 15% bonus to nukes, drain and aspir (acting as a mini elemental seal. With 4 charges to use these, each a minute recast, sch can match the good blms. Not like on a fully merited taru blm with all the wet-dream inducing gear, but the other blms lol
meh. with my blm i get 1700-2200 on these flans easy... SCH is not overpowered, it will never be as good as a whm and it will never be as good as a blm, they are the ones that can do both jobs well, but no the best
i would just like to point somethng out, the damage here from sch and blm is very similar, but there is an important different that should be noted, blm have magic attack bonus 4, sch dont, even with certain sub, sch would only get magic attack bonus 2, this video more or less shows that a sch can keep up and in some cases even outdamage blm even with out this,

i think he's right the INT bonus of the blm is kinda crappy when you think that SCH can do the same dmg like you and that kinda sucks as i was blm/sch so i knew that it sucked as blm. blm is awesome but still somehow it doesnt feel like it is rewarding charging 18 or 9 seconds for a spell and making less dmg than a sch or even a tier IV spell. SE has to do something with the BLM. maybe additionally the ability like the Geomage in other FF-games.

I'm sencing that too many ppl are jelous...lol. Get over it BLM is great, it can learn spells that a SCH can't learn, like AoE damage, Stun (SCH/DRK can...but still most SCH /RDM for obvious reasons..), and AM (I,II) spells. But combining Klimaform+ Weather effect+ IV Nuke spells with good gear, it can easily outdamage a BLM...sorry I love BLM too and I have worked very hard on it (merits, gear,...) but still FACTS are Facts...so I'm lvling SCH atm (lvl 28..).
some people just cant afford items like that, im 75 BLM too. thats just dumb that you think someone sucks over gear, its how people play. If a BLM cant stun ultima and makes people wipe or cant even do a simple Magic Burst, you can say he sucks, if hes not using full HQ staves a sorc ring etc., how does that make him suck. That just stupid logic, not everyone can afford the top gear. I could also say 95% of BLMs suck for not having Novio.

And when i said ifrit sucks i didn't specify, not EVERYONE sucks there are a few good player but the majority does suck on ifrit. I use Ether ring - ENM Fire in the Sky, Serket ring - Serket Garlage Shitadel and Serket shield - Serket Garlage Shitadel last Sorcerers ring - Hostile Herbivores or Treasure and Tribulations. Now i know RMT all over serket but good items take time to obtain (unless you buy gil like a noob) Also go get some obis in sea trhere free just takes time to get the items. Hope this helps. GL

WHM is best as a sub in parties until you get Stoneskin from your RDM sub. Stoneskinga makes you a beast of a main healer.

They're easy to get, just didn't use 'em during the video. Those helix spells are for DOT which isn't really what we do on puddings as you can see.

Btw i suggest getting a sorcerers ring and manually activating it with -hp gear then putting back on your nuke gear.
