wow, complaining that the rear seat moves together, its not like its wide like an Acadia to make it awkward if it moved as one piece and the fact that this is only a 5 passenger vehicle. Theres no need to put extra mechanicals and money into the seaat travel when its not a super luxry car that can eat the cost easily. He annos me with all the little things he points out, the ity bitty things no one ever looks at and brings great cars down.

I just read some of the comments here of people slamming this vehicle and I couldn't help but notice how retarded so many of them sound; can't spell or write worth beans but, nevertheless, are big "experts" on American vehicles. It makes me wonder if some of them are coming from the laminated offices of dealerships selling Japanese vehicles ... sitting around writing up negative crap to trash a good product so people will continue to go along with the brainwashing that only their cars count.

I was thinking about getting either a Ford F-150 or a Jeep Unlimited, but then while doing some Google research I came upon this vehicle and now I think I like it more than the other two. It looks like a winner.

I would like to get a 6-cylinder one in all-wheel-drive though ultimately it may be beyond my budget.

The vehicle looks like it's well-made but I'll have to read more reviews for the 2011 model to know for sure. Do any of you folks own this vehicle? If so, how do you like it?

I would not buy one of these because they are well known for having transmission problems. The 6T40/45 hydromatic is crap to begin with but in this application it's simply not up to the task.

Then again I would not buy any SUV based on a FWD car platform.

I've seen the Terrain in person and I think it's kind of ugly. The front looks way too bulky and big for the truck and the rear is ugly also. I've also seen the Equinox and it's a nice looking truck. The taillights could be more updated instead of being borrowed from a Range Rover Freelander.

Im from Germany, i was in October 2 weeks in the states and canada. I got this GMC Terrain. I was very nice to drive about 3500miles. But the engine, the 2.4l was a little bit to small...

They offer a 6 cylinder for more power if you need or want it. It will tow more as well. Except for very small cars, I've never found any 4cyl that are going to be anything but average in performance.

Ok Guys. I hope you understand my English: I order in September a Standart SUV in Germany. When i arrived in Richmond the Lady from Thrifty ask me what i want. A Grand Cherokee, a Eqinox or a Terrain. They has only one GMC Terrain with only 20 miles. I take the Brandnew Terrain. And later i see this is a 2.4l. I think all the engines in US are bigger than 4 cyl. The last time i was in 2007 in Newport News i has a Dodge Magnum with 3.5. I hope you can read what i mean:-)

I am not a fan of American brand vehicles, but this Terrain got me hooked. It's nice, big, premium but not expensive and fuel efficient. I will definitely put this SUV on my list together with Japanese SUVs when I go shopping. Good job GMC!

im actually a fan of this car. give it a lil power and make it a manual im sold. I wasn't considering ANYTHING GM made xcept for their caddys which I cant afford, but this is actually a hot ride. I want to move from a compact sedan to a crossover. I sort of like the Honda CRV however the simple fact that GM has onstar is a huge selling point for me. I like the new Equinox. However I just saw this vehicle from HMC and i sort of like it and i sort of don't. the styling is bold on this terrain and i love the equinox's style a lot. So I guess it will come down to a test drive. when does the terrain come out exactly?

GMC and Chevy may look similar but they are marketed differently to consumers...some people love Chevy and some GMC, and I think both Brands of GM is marketed right...IF GMC IS OUT OF THE GM LINE, I dont think GM would be making any PROFIT...GMC is making profits, so is CHEVY, Buick & Cadillac they picked good brands to stay...Pontiac, Saturn, and DEFF HUMMER have to go, I dont know abt their profits. They can adopt their BEST SELLING CARS from Saturn and Pontiac to other GM Lines.

From what I've read on here and elsehwere, GMC is making a profit for GM, mostly due to GMC's involvement with commercial vehicles. So from what I gather, to get rid of GMC would be a huge mistake. I may be wrong, but it sems like GM is puting out their best cars in a long time; style-wise and they seem to be trying to improve their reliability.I will definitely check this out when it hits dealers
