Caballe is indeed great here, but I wouldn't say Kabaivanska is exactly horrible. You really can see Caballe loves what she is singing here - you can see what an exhilarated face she pulls at one point (I regretfully can't tell you the timing cause I can't view the video now). The apocalyptic ending suits her so much! She enjoys herself so much you can hear her leting loose and screaming loud chest notes - great!!!

Sensational. I had no idea Caballe could still sound like that in 1986. Vocally and dramatically superb (La Superba, right?)!

It wasn't until she did the Isolde that she totally lost it. And then she could still pull it together for concerts, where she could rest between numbers and share the spotlight with other singers...
