Hi all nice to see the quarry in operation. Apparently they need to move a pylon to increase the quarry working area. I can see a electric pole at the begining of the video, but assume it links to something more substantial? Anyone know where the pylon is that needs to move to expand the quarry? Ty in advance girls and guys, ;0-).
Lowland Aggregates is over the dam and to your LEFT about 1/2 a mile, what you are looking at is called "PAN PACIFIC QUADLING QUARRY LTD." or not so long ago "BARROW TOWN QUARRY" sorry but I know this because it`s one of my customers. Close though.
cool vid, if you thought it is sketchy now shoulda seen it 2 years ago under old management.... scary things were happening, but even now they still get un-expecte slides from time to time, I look at that pit everyday since its across the road from me!
@flyingmonkey1993 Same owners, I met the manager earlier this year on a jobsite down the road, nice people to deal with, excellent gravel quality too.
@Graveltrucking I'd like to see this operation fly with permits on Sunshine Coast, sure wouldn't in the Gulf Islands. maybe thats part of the reason why we are so fucked with these left-wing liberals. I know the Islands Trust wouldn't have this....SCRD?!?! I dont know....
@gangesexcavating No way you could process gravel right next to that lake or what ever that body of water is. You wouldn't beable to excavate a rock face like that either, not sure how they are getting away with that. I did some looking on the net that Pit is operated by Pan Pacific Aggregates they are very shady company I wouldn't trust them. All I can do is laugh, good luck to the Abbotsford district.
@Graveltrucking They are doing a better job than the previous owners (CNI) and the City of Abbotsford gave them permits to excavate gravel from Quadling road as well as increase the working hours, they are doing everything by the book.
@69rd96 Ron they are the same owners, Pan Pacific bought out CNI it is all one huge investment group they don't give a shit about anybody else but themselves. The local gov't here squashed Pan Pacific they couldn't get what they wanted so they left the area. Good luck to Abbotsford they will get screwed in the end.
@Graveltrucking now that, right there is gonna be a mess after that pit is done. I mean a 500' + height scar down that mountainside, that isn't gonna erase itself in 5 years. Good thing its in Abbotsford, because the slopes will be dotted with cookie-cutter condos in due time. You would see something like this in a logging road quarry maybe, not in Abbotsford? well maybe not...
@gangesexcavating It will be a ugly scar on the hillside nothing will ever grow back there, the BC gov't really doesn't care they are probably getting good royalties of the mineral rights. Mountainside looks like really fractured rock eventually there will be a big slide. If they ever hit a vein that has water flowing through it they will have a real mess How are you supposed to reclaim that land you can't.
@Graveltrucking about 2 months ago I was sittin in the front yard on a sunday (no one working at the pit at the time) and a huge slide came down and covered the road at the bottom of the pit where people sit and fish (luckly no one was there fishin at the time). what more scary is that was not the first slide to come down and most likley wont be the last
@flyingmonkey1993 There will be a good slide with trees and shit falling down just give it time, if water starts bleeding out of the hillside then you will definatly get a slide, just a matter of time.

@clovakid I don't so that unless I'm invited, a certain someone here would do it, but he's not a scary sasquatch looking dude driving a stealth Jeep.

@gangesexcavating And it's a hell of a good show when they hoe chuck boulders off the top and they land on the ground as perfect 3 inch minus.
