The ability to join into the "persona" along with ALL this guy's techniques are great. But getting the mental 'persona' into your mind-set is essential IF you are actually gonna do these voices. The Rich Little voices were done exactly as this guy says. Except there were Way more accents of the person's geography (Boston, N.Y., L.A., Chicago - etc.). Rich Little was famous primarily for his work with Johnny Carson on his show. But The Very BESTest - Mel Blanc.

When I refer to "talking in the back of your throat" I didn't explain it as best as I could have. What I meant is, constrict the muscles in the back of your throat. Talk more from the base of your tongue than from the tip (as you would normally speak) and then add in a lower or higher pitch in the words you say and you'll notice quite a difference. Many females do male voices in the cartoons for example, Lisa Simpson (The SImpsons). Tommy pickles (rugrats) and vice versa for men.

The difference in vocal chord size between men and women causes a difference in vocal pitch. Men have a lower tone where as women are a higher. So to answer your question probably not. Cartman could be achievable by a female (please refer to the video for my explanation). The joker is quite the opposite) He has a mixture of a naisily unsteady speech pattern. He pronounces certain words with alot of emotion. Going from very high pitch to sometimes very low pitch (like a movie announcer)

Actually if you have seen Baseketball (starring the two main voices of south park Trey Parker and Matt Stone) There are several moments where they slip into voices from south park. They're real quick and hard to notice because I think it's mostly an accident. The most obvious ones are Cartman and Mr. Garrison. I'm not sure on how much those voices are digitally messed with

hey man, great video.. i find that picturing the characters in your mind really helps with the voice too... I find the slightest change to the vocals or applying pressure in certain regions has drastic effects on what you sound like. omg your south park is so good.Only ones I can do is Mr Hankey, Cartman, Mr Slave, Satan, Mr. Mackey.
