such a shame, she would be a splendid looking ship. The Medway Queen is well on the road to recovery at long last, but don't think she was anywhere near as bad as the Ryde looks now - at least she was floated. Can't really see how it could even be moved to a shipyard, as for the rust? how can a ship be so rusty? I think the Titanic is probably in better condition.
i was 15 yrs old when i first went onto this vessel as a night club, it was lovely to walk in its doors and admire the steam engine you could plainly see as you walked in, i also used to play on the medway queen as a kid when it was waisting away down the medina, i moved off the island when i was 19, took my new family to see it about 2006 and was gutted to see it, they've got the medway queen back to its former glory, why not the ryde queen
@SuperTitanicfreak Yes, you're almost certainly right in regards to not being able to save the ship at this stage - but I think a lot of us aren't going to let her go!
alright mate hope you dont mind me using some of your fotage for a video ive been making as the inside footage i had got accidently deleted and im aware there may be asbestos onboard the ship so im not risking it a second time lol if you want me to remove the video just let me know :)
@MashBang Hi - I'm absolutely fine with that but I'd appreciate anything of mine you use to be credited to Philip Hutchinson (GuildfordGhost). If you're doing a proper DVD thing needing really clear footage, PM me - I can send you hi-res photos and can arrange to get you a proper DVD of this (it was filmed with a camcorder and not an mpeg camera).
@GuildfordGhost Many thanks on your allowence of me using your footage i have since returned and obtained more than enough of my own footage as i do not feel making a film with somebody elses footage is quite what im after as i am quite facinated by the wreck of this ship and feel footage of my own has some what of a sentimental feel to it but thanks anyway this footage you have captured is great 5/5 :) well its a thumbs up now isn't it haha
@MashBang You're more than welcome. Thanks for being so decent as to let me know - few would! I've found some arses on this site who have actually downloaded my own videos and reuploaded them as their own... even keeping my wording on the notes! Do please let me know if you upload your work as, obviously, I'd love to see it. I've got loads of old postcards and photos of it in use if you need any.
Mark, I'm totally with you but by following your instructions, 0 hits are coming up. I sadly feel efforts will be futile but I so wish that were not the case. I know the funnel has already gone and a hole cut in the side, pending imminent scrapping.
The Isle of Wight County Press has been doing some features on the boat and a plan to refloat her and use her as a pleasure boat. They seem to think it quite possible. I hope it's true but, if you see the wreck for real, their work is somewhat cut out!

For the life of me, I cannot understand why the owner(s) didn't hand her over to the preservationists decades ago.

I'm so sorry guys, but there is no way she can be save. she is falling apart, only a miracle can save. But like America, just let her go.

Please, there is an e-petition that needs signing. Cant post links, so search number 10 e-petitions, and then once on the site, search for PS Ryde.
Thanks

Very sad. We used to holiday on the IoW in the 60s and Ryde was our favourite ferry.
