disgaea 1 had the whole feel to it, the magic of the new game, disgaea 2 felt familiar yet fresh, with a different (arguably worse story) but disgaea 2 fixed many flaws with the gameplay, and i personally prefer felonies than statisticians, a little more gameplay opportunities and more use of item world. gameplay is better in disgaea 2 whilst story and magic was all in disgaea 1

I think this game is (from what I've seen) an insult to the first of the series. At least Laharl wasn't dressed like some sort of...whatever that guy is, and the special effects were incredibly superior (considering the technology level of the time). It's just my personnal opinion, but this game is horrible }:(

Honestly, i kind of like the first one better. Staticians were more time efficient the the felony system and the story didn't have that same... feeling as the first one, it wasn't bad, but it was different. Also, while Adell and Laharl are both cliche, in a sense, laharl has the humor due to his Overlord sized ego.

A noob I may be, but I still think that the first one is much better than the second. The only thing I need to prove it is the comparison of the Prism Rangers. Yeah, that lawyer in the 2nd one was hilarious, wasn't it...and yes, Laharl was a much stronger character than Adell.

I like the play in the second one a lot better, even though I really loved the first. I think losing Flonne and Laharl as main characters is not much of a sacrifice. Adell is kind of a generic, brave and honest anime hero though.

Flonne and Etna are still teens. Flonne = 16 (if you want to look at it in terms of human's maturity) and etna = 14, Laharl = 13.
