My name is Shaun and we lived on Howard close to where you were showing, but I can't remember the housing unit number "15something F". I went to Howard elementary and Curundu JHS while in the CZ from 1972-1976. It was nice to see it again!
Thank you.The BX that you pointed to were in the lower level. The upper levels were enlisted quarters. I lived there '75-'77. It overlooked the flightline and was rather loud.Got to se all kinds of aircraft.Every outfit in the world wanted to go TDY there. Thanks again, I have been looking for a picture of my barracks forever. I lost all mine in a fire along time ago.
i lived in that one in 74 the cortez lived to the left it looks way different i loved living there ,that was so crazy when i watched this and u drove right up to my old house
Continued. The beer truck spilled it's load. What a great place to grow up! We spent many days at Ft Kobbe beach, Howard pool and over at Rodman's pool. My Dad worked part time at the theatre and we saw lots of movies there too. We visited Rio Hato, Goofy Falls, Ft San Lorenzo, of course the locks. All the bases and Balboa/Panama City too. Sloths in the trees, fruit trees every where. I went to Cocoli Elm and Howard Elm. Thanks for the updated view, I really want to get back down there!
The building you are pointing to in the video is the same one I lived in as a kid from 69 to 73. The place was new then, man has it changed a lot. We lived in the apartment second from the left. Unit B I believe. Is that the unit you lived in? The road behind the apartments was the scene of several accidents. The curve there was apparently kind of tricky. I remember once a couple of GIs in a jeep went off the drop off just down the road about a100 yards. Another time a beer truck wreckd
I lived there from 85 to 89. I was assigned to the 24th CAMS at Howard AFB. I have been all over the World, and Panama is still my favorite, and most missed. The people are kind, the place is amazing! a true treasure. I often wonder how my old friends are doing. I wish the very best for the citizens and can only hope that the Country prospers!
I'm not sure what is wrong with my "paisano" ! You and your family will always be welcome to Panama! I'm very thank full to the americans for keeping their promises, their word! you guys give back to us the canal without any trouble!thanks! and like I say before ! bro! you always be welcome in Panama, you are part of us, and oviously we are part of you guys ! thank you for going back and remember us dear! I apologise in behave of my compatriot!
We lived in the unit right in front of where your taxi parked from 76-79 I went to Howard as well. I remember my 4th grade teacher Mrs Deslandes (sp)? learned to play chess in 4th grade. There use to be a basketball court right be Kathylak's transformer boxes we had a closet full of basketballs cause my dad would lay in wait and when the balls would roll into our yard my dad would steal the balls not very many older kids liked us cause my dad was a ball thief!
@TheLucky1967 ...my name is Fernando Waldron...I lived in 1545A...the corner house in front of the steps by where the taxi parked...I used to play basketball all day and night at that goalpost
I'm glad you american TERRORISTS are out of my country. Now all you need is to go one step further back to europe and all will be right in the world.-I LIVED on the base during the 80's and have seen the bizarre racism and savageries you pigs are characteristic of...since before the colonization by spain,Panama has never been better off in its history, than it is now.May your civilians be caused what you've caused our civilians, that which I've SEEN with my own eyes...9/11 didn't even kill as much.
I lived in that housing when it was brand new, 1969-71. If you looked away from your house to the road, didn't the road curve off to the left and up the hill to officers housing? If I'm identifying the location correctly, then if you made a right out of your section I lived in the next one down. I remember many evenings spent sitting on those transformer boxes with my friends. Was that Curundu Junior High that you were showing. Finished 9th grade there before moving back to the states.
