at first, the action pack came with the grey zapper. When laws stating that all toy gun must have some sort of red on them, nintendo changed it to the red one.

Yeah! another person who loves the NES Max. I have 3 of them, and use them more than my dog bone controllers. When I'd play Punchout and get knocked down, I'd hold the turbos down while hammering the red buttons. Mac was on his feet in no time flat.

Since you seem to know a lot about Nintendo peripherals, do you know if there was ever a converter similar to the Honeybee converter that allowed European PAL B games to be played on an American NES? All I can ever find is converters that allow Famicom games to play on the NES.

Hey rob....do you remember the ghetto version of the max controller? I do not remember what it was called but it fit over (kind of snapped on) the original n.e.s. controller and had the sliding thumb circle thing over the d-pad......it worked with the same idea that the slide on joystick did.

The cheapest boxed NES system will run you about $40. You can usually find the control deck set for that much, and sometimes find the Action Set for that as well.

Wow thats a lot of controllers and most I've seen in Nintendo Power and other mags,I do prefer the Factor 5 turbo controller over the Max and I found a NES Advantage for $4(sadly no box)my mom made me throw out my boxes,still have the NES manuals.Did the DX2 set come with SMB?Also you can buy a NES Retroport for Wii and PC(or both) and test your old controllers on it and maybe do a video on them or without it and just use them on the NES.

Holy shit man, I own a console set boxed that you don't! I HONESTLY was not expecting this! I have the sports package boxed, which included the NES Satellite 4 controllers, 2 or 3 different sports games. I'm not sure about it including a zapper (I don't feel like checking atm).
