BMW ussually make astoundingly superb vehicles. the e38 7-series was even a bond car, however that is absoluetely ridiculous. i was looking at these as my dad wants to buy a BMW 7-series. however according to a number of owners on the numerous BMW forums, the ones after this date are as sturdy and reliable as a honda or toyota with the poorly designed ECU beinging ditched and replaced. those ones are great cars.

My 2002 745Li is a real lemon. After 17 k. miles, after countless replacements of spark plugs and coils finally JMK BMW decided to replace most of valve parts etc.. Parts only over $ 4k. Soon after, whole steering system, front brakes, trunk opening mechanism, some gaskets.windows do not close, display shows empty fuel tank after fill up, all brakes get stuck itself for couples hours during driving for no reason…. That wrack cost $70 k. F.U. BMW!
That is unfuckingfortunate! i've regarded these cars as high class.. but not any more after seeing how they won't last any longer than my '99 Passat did. They look great and have tons of technology packed into them, but it doesn't seem as though all of its parts work in unison. After seeing Leno's video on the Hydrogen 7, I'm very surprised at the fact that he didn't even mention one of the plethora of problems that you could run into with a seven series.
@airtouch01 I had a VW fox and I drove it to over 260K miles then sold it to this woman who drove it a few years more. The only thing I replaced was the plastic radiator twice, and both fuel pumps, plus normal maintenence!

I have a 86 735i vert, everything is good until I reach about 3800 rpm's then the engine has a power loss and fire. I have checked the fuel pressure regulator, the full throttle switch the mass air flow sensor crankshaft sensor ,coil spark plug,coil wire,distiboters, no luck so far, any ideas on what I should do next....rep me please thxxx

i am the manager at a body shop here in california and i have had to deal with 7 series, 5 series, and 3 series and two m3's they have been a pain in the ass! its problem after problem and the price gets really high for my customers i could not believe how many problems all the cars gave me each car spent at least 3 months and one m3 took almost a year! and 20k in repairs thank god the guy had ins :)
You can't compare a Honda to a BMW here, since BMW itself is still alive due to reputation and image, not engineering. But Honda's reputation is based on reliability, build quality and a lot of safety features.

Some BMW dealers are good others are not, personally I had the worst owners experience in the world. They have these huge egos about BMWs being the greatest cars in the world when really they are the worst built quality cars on the market. Their designs are great and they build very attractive & good looking cars but the quality used in these vehicles are just horrible. BMW is programmed to denie every problem, they did that to me as well. They try to minimize the issue every time. Get it right!
How do the European automakers sell their cars? By making attractive cars and tell people "This is a European car from the company with history".

Meh, there is problems with every car, including the most expensive. Just look at all the people with issues with Ferrari and Austin Martin, both of which are similarly priced. No doubt this had more than the fair share, but probably because one or two engineers didn't do their job. Not really the fault of BMW directly, but perhaps their quality control could use some work.
I drove merc. s class, 7 series and audi a8, all nice extremely beutiful cars, but I also do admit that 7 series from 2002-till facelift in 2005 are pretty problematic, lots of guts from BMW introducing new sets of tos but they were simply not fully operational to be used in that car... and to other fool disagreeing about Audi A8, I am sure you never seen, or drove one.
My brother owns the '03 735i and now its on 240.000 km and the car still feels new. The man in this video has no luck at all, unless this is used againest BMW. 7 series is been a problem for alot of auto makers for years, and still they can't take it down. 7 series will hold the crown for ever. The S class is good too but it's more expensive. The audi A8 is rubbish, only fools would buy an audi :)

BMW ussually make astoundingly superb vehicles. the e38 7-series was even a bond car, however that is absoluetely ridiculous. i was looking at these as my dad wants to buy a BMW 7-series. however according to a number of owners on the numerous BMW forums, the ones after this date are as sturdy and reliable as a honda or toyota with the poorly designed ECU beinging ditched and replaced. those ones are great cars.

My 2002 745Li is a real lemon. After 17 k. miles, after countless replacements of spark plugs and coils finally JMK BMW decided to replace most of valve parts etc.. Parts only over $ 4k. Soon after, whole steering system, front brakes, trunk opening mechanism, some gaskets.windows do not close, display shows empty fuel tank after fill up, all brakes get stuck itself for couples hours during driving for no reason…. That wrack cost $70 k. F.U. BMW!

That is unfuckingfortunate! i've regarded these cars as high class.. but not any more after seeing how they won't last any longer than my '99 Passat did. They look great and have tons of technology packed into them, but it doesn't seem as though all of its parts work in unison. After seeing Leno's video on the Hydrogen 7, I'm very surprised at the fact that he didn't even mention one of the plethora of problems that you could run into with a seven series.

I have checked the fuel pressure regulator, the full throttle switch the mass air flow sensor crankshaft sensor ,coil spark plug,coil wire,distiboters, no luck so far, any ideas on what I should do next....rep me please thxxx

My mechanic said I am making him rich....and I am going broke WTH

i am the manager at a body shop here in california and i have had to deal with 7 series, 5 series, and 3 series and two m3's they have been a pain in the ass! its problem after problem and the price gets really high for my customers i could not believe how many problems all the cars gave me each car spent at least 3 months and one m3 took almost a year! and 20k in repairs thank god the guy had ins :)

You can't compare a Honda to a BMW here, since BMW itself is still alive due to reputation and image, not engineering. But Honda's reputation is based on reliability, build quality and a lot of safety features.

Some BMW dealers are good others are not, personally I had the worst owners experience in the world. They have these huge egos about BMWs being the greatest cars in the world when really they are the worst built quality cars on the market. Their designs are great and they build very attractive & good looking cars but the quality used in these vehicles are just horrible. BMW is programmed to denie every problem, they did that to me as well. They try to minimize the issue every time. Get it right!

Im not keen on the merc S class either. many people have them now. instead i would buy an audi s8, mazerati quattroporte S, jaguar XJ or aston martin rapide.

BECAUSE the g37 is COMPENSATED by a 3.7L engine. whereas, the 335i doesnt have a lazy engine and has a 2.9L engine that generates 300bhp. if infiniti had their 2.9l engine, it would be underpowered compared to the 335i, loser.

Meh, there is problems with every car, including the most expensive. Just look at all the people with issues with Ferrari and Austin Martin, both of which are similarly priced. No doubt this had more than the fair share, but probably because one or two engineers didn't do their job. Not really the fault of BMW directly, but perhaps their quality control could use some work.

I drove merc. s class, 7 series and audi a8, all nice extremely beutiful cars, but I also do admit that 7 series from 2002-till facelift in 2005 are pretty problematic, lots of guts from BMW introducing new sets of tos but they were simply not fully operational to be used in that car... and to other fool disagreeing about Audi A8, I am sure you never seen, or drove one.

My brother owns the '03 735i and now its on 240.000 km and the car still feels new. The man in this video has no luck at all, unless this is used againest BMW. 7 series is been a problem for alot of auto makers for years, and still they can't take it down. 7 series will hold the crown for ever. The S class is good too but it's more expensive. The audi A8 is rubbish, only fools would buy an audi :)
