he doesn't, the normal batarang have this kind of camera too, but you can't control it...

does Batman kill them or does he leave them unconscious?

unconscious, in detective mode u'll be able to see the heartrate of those guys around 35-ish, one thing about Batman is he does NOT kill people, remember the Dark Knight final scene with the Joker?

cam view is usually from R2 or for 360 i'm guessing its RT
